No, Nintendo have never been hardcore, and that isn't what I said anyway.

MS is offering more core games right now than Nintendo.

Right now? Today is July 1st and Solatorobo is available in stores. What is MS offering?

This said, I'm still waiting for a core hit from Microsoft. It's been seven months and nothing but The Last Templar (which wasn't even first nor second party). They are not invested in the core. They need to take notice that Gears is the last great core entry for the year. Im starting to think the WItcher 2 was just a pity game they decided to partially fund and threw at the core without giving it much publicity. Microsoft obviously knows nothing about the core, because if they would've revealed this game at their conference towards the end, everyone would've been in awe. Simple.

Don't hate on them because they're not stupid but business savvy insted. They know exactly what the core is, and they proved this early on in the gen. Right now there is nothing to be gained by 2 million selling exclusive games.

Early next gen they'll concentrate on the more niche titles and smaller core games again, when they need too.

Exactly its funny how people act like Sony haveing Infamous, Killzone, and LBP is like awesomesause for sales and stuff.  Kinect Sports will outsell all those games.

The fact is at the end of the day MS are trying to expand their audience.  They already have the core and the core aren't going anywhere, because as I've stated before the COMMON consumer doesn't give two craps about a game being exclusive.  Look at the sales of multi-plats, thats where most gamers go.  This late in the generation the only thing thats going to bring in new consumers are new experiences and MS is trying to establish that with Kinect.

A bunch of niche (though good quality) exclusives like I listed above really aren't going to do much to push a system.

some people enjoy sales, other people enjoy games

Luckily I enjoy both and have purchased every single PS3 excluisve on day 1 so far this year.

That being said trying to argue that MS should be apologetic for a strategy that litteraly prints them money is pathetic.

I dont think anyone here is arguing that. Kinect is saving them.

There are plenty of quality core games available for the 360 for 2011. Whether its First or Third party. The only legit point from the sony camp is that the PS3 have more choices in terms of games to choose from, albeit not that many. They act like MS's few but big exclusive games + 3rd party games are not capable of catering or satisfy MS's core userbase.

IMO most PS3 owners (judging from the sales of their 2011 exclusives released already) will only buy 1 or 2 exclusives from the long list they tout in internet forums.

PS3 owners are not even talking about 360, its the 360 owners and fans who are sharing concerns, paranoid??

Sorry bro, but Forza and the Halo anniversary edition are the only first party titles. If I was Microsoft I would've made bungie create the levels from Halo as DLC to add to Reach, but as I see now Microsoft is going to start shoving Halo down everyones throats now that they are running out of games. Gears is on its last run and in my opinion that is the 360's best franchise outside of Mass Effect which Microsoft stupidly lost exclusivity to because they didnt purchase Bioware. As for Microsoft and Sony when it comes to variety, that is a loss battle for Microsoft, however Microsoft has the peripheral in Kinect which is their ace. It can cover up all of the 360's overall flaws and keep Microsoft in the game. The question is how long will Kinect fend off the gaining Sonys flurry of core titles coming between now and 2012? Ok we've got the third consecutive year of Halo in 2012 (check). What else is there? Microsoft has something to prove next year, because outside of Kinect their offerings are starting to resemble the original Xbox.

Well bro, my post was specific to 2011 (ie the PS3 is not going to be too far ahead in terms of game choices, diversity and quality by the end of this year for the x360's core base). The picture painted here seems to suggest a dire situation for xbox360's 2011 games, which is why I decided to post.

With regards to 2012, there is still 1/2 a year to go, so nobody knows whether MS is going to announce any core titles for the xbox. But right now in comparison to PS3 2012 lineup I agree, its pretty weak.

LOL @ ps3 supporters not talking about lack of first party titles for the xbox. I can understand 360 owners raising these concerns, but it just seems like its the other camp that is more concerning.lol.

You seem to want to ignore Gears with your Forza and Halo comment but the reality is the game is exclusive and will have the exact same impact as a first party title.  Also I really don't get the variety comment.  The 360 has Minecraft, Disneyland Adventures, Steel Battalion, Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster, The Gunstringer, Project Draco, Dance Central 2, Michael Phelps: Push the Limit, Raving Rabbids: Alive & Kicking, The Witcher 2 , Kinect Sports 2, and Kinect Star Wars for 2011 which are all either 360 exclusive or console exclusive and that's a fair amount of variety.
