Forums - Sony Discussion - What are thoughts on no PSN for a week+?

My PS3 is a dedicated single player machine, so if I hadn't read it here, I probably wouldn't even know it was down.  ALMOST bought FFVII through the PSN store couple months back, but now given security breach, I'm kinda glad I didn't.

Makes me glad I have live, but than again I have only been playing single player games for both systems. Basically, I rarely play ps3 online so I could care less. The drama on the internet is out of control.

I'm actually fairly bothered by it. Just ordered Netflix last week and do not have Xbox Live Gold (ridiculous that you have to have it) and PSN is down.

Otherwise, I'd be pretty indifferent on the whole matter. I rarely game online on my PS3.

what you need psn for netflix?

that sucks balls.  what happened to just inserting disc and playing movies

I've read that you can still use it so long as you have an internet connection. However, I now have a new PS3 (gave my old one away) and have yet to setup my psn on it. You need an account to download Netflix. Just a mess of inconvenient circumstances in my case, really.

On another note not directly related to access of PSN, but of Sony's whole mess: Yes, I'm bothered with the circumstance.

Technically you cannot launch either netflix or hulu for that matter on your PS3 without also being logged into PSN. I've tried.

the air smells all funny some kind of fresh, and there is other people, lots of them! and there is that shiny thing in the sky burning my skin!

terrible i tell you!

And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

not even trying downplay this...but the time has been going fast for me, I've just been trophy hunting and catching up on other games. I have a huge backlog of games that I haven't beaten(check my game collection to see how big) and i've just buckled down(after finishing school work) and just getting to work.

You can still use netflix.

Just go on netflix , it will give you an error than another and then you can go on.

The situation and how Sony handled it is atrocious to say the least.

Mine wasn't letting me do that. Kept re-asking for me to log into PSN.

you can still use netflix let it try logging in and it will say it's down for maintenance, try logging in to psn again when it forces you then close it when it says it's down for maintenance again and you shouldn't have any more problems.
