Because the poll is flawed I decided to add up how many users were havingt negative experiances to those with positive ones. Above is based on actual comments

Alright I have my 3DS pre-ordered and will be picking it up on Sunday. However reports since release have talked about negative symptoms brought on by playing the 3DS for more then 5-20 minutes. I am worried because their is no demo station nearby me so I'll have to buy it without trying it first.

I decided to create this thread to see just how many gamers have experianced any negative symptoms. I have emailed Nintendo asking what kind of protection consumers have if the device makes them sick, example returning the device for a refund.

Now yah I know the argument that we can all just turn the 3D off. But guess what many of us want to experiance are games in 3D or not at all. The only reason I am buying my 3DS right aways is so that I can experiance 3D gameplay as soon as possible. But if it were to make me sick and I was to turn the 3D off I'd rather wait for the next model to come out.

So just how many people have noticed negative symptoms? If you have what kind of symptoms have you gotten? How long did you play for those symptoms to show up?

(Please do not derail this thread calling it hate or what ever, this thread has been created for the soul purpose of informing gamers, please don't allow fanboyism to derail it. I want honest input into the symptoms of 3DS)

I realized a flaw in the thread. You need to vote to see the results. However adding a "I have not played 3DS" would mean people who want to see the results now can't re-vote after trying the 3DS.

Mods - is their anyway to see the results of a poll without voting. In this case it would help consumers to be able to see how many people had negative experiances compared to positives

I voted No (0 yes, 1 no). my 3ds arrived yesterday, i played 6 hours straight without experiencing any negative symptom. however my girlfriend tried looking at the screen for a few seconds but she couldn't due to nausea (but she wasn't looking at the screen directly, i think it's just the fault of the 2 images partially overlayed, they combine into a single 3d image only if you look at it from the front)

I have had it for a month now and can report no negative symptoms at all, although I'm usually very prone to headaches. I'm lucky this time I guess. :)

no but i'm used to 3D from my PC which is at a stronger 3D setting.

(I did tire my eyes (no pain just felt tired) with long sessions at the begining... now they don't care)

Been playing for hours and no negative side effects.

i think you all need to make your own thread stating that you have no side effects.

i mean every and i mean EVERY single person that experiences even an ounce of headache no matter how small makes their own thread to declare how the 3DS is doomed.

quit being civilized and staying in one topic, we need mass topics.  i mean even it is outnumbered 1000 to 5 in no nasua vs nasua those 5 people would have created a topic so it looks likes 1 to 5.

It's always the case that people having negative experiences tend to report those, while people who are content usually don't state that.

The only thing I've noticed from switching the 3D slider from 0 to active is a slight eye strain as your eyes adjust to the 3D effect. Seconds later my eyes were just fine and enjoying PilotWings Resort (the Best Buy demo). For that game, I had the slider a little lower than halfway, and it suited me just fine.

I played for a good ten mintues and felt no issues while doing so. So other than the inital eye strain from going from 2D to 3D, it's all good in the hood.

So "no" I guess.
