Go with NVidia and avoid ATI if you do gaming on it.

ATI have shitty software/driver. That way, you'd have more time on gaming rather than troubleshooting.

Thats a really outdated opinion on AMD cards. Their drivers have greatly improved and are in par with Nvidia's.

With that said, I am somewhat dissapointed with the 6000 series thus far. Price wise, 5870 is the best AMD deal IMO as I've seen them as low as $159.

Well, as long as their driver continues to give me trouble. My opinion holds true to me.

Their new driver was bluescreening me for no reason and I had to install older driver to stop it from blue screen. Even from doing nothing and leaving windows idle.

same happened to me when I still had a 7800GS. Never had any problems with drivers for my HD4890 though.

Such things can happen with all cards. Both companies are just as (un)reliable.

Power: 350 Watts

Well... I wouldn't go much above an HD 5770 or 6850...

Tease.

According to the dell site, your desktop has PCI-E, so you should be good.

I would strongly urge you to consider the GTX570 instead. Unless you are running mutliple monitors or have 3D vision, you really don't need the GTX580. Even with Crysis 2 and battlefield 3, this card is an overkill.

GTX580 is for those freaks who have to have the latest tech at all times(who resell their gear every 6 months to get the latest stuff), or who are running multiple monitors with 3D vision... Besides the card will tank in price as soon as the GTX590 comes out. Look at what happened to the GTX480.

I am running 2 25" moniters which is why im getting the new card :P

would this power supplywork with my computer?

More than enough, but I'd get it just for the 'insurance' so to speak [if you want to upgrade even more later]

The fact that you're running two 25" is probably another reason to get that powersupply. I'd say take it.

And as for the whole "NVidia vs ATI" war, stick with what you want/need. Usually the driver problems can be solved by doing a bit of digging online. I fixed my 5770's problems with a few hours worth of digging online until I found a little forum post with a little link in the 4th page of Google leading me to a download file for the hotfix for the Graphics Driver [my card would sometimes show streaks of colors on the screen, and I'd have to hard restart my computer]

Hold on...so you plan to run 2 monitors or game on 2 monitors? 1 GTX570 is plenty to run 2 monitors if you game on one.

If you plan to game on 2 monitors, you may want to consider GTX580 (and a new power supply) however you will have a monitor bezel right in the middle which will ruin any 1st person shooter or 3rd person action games. I don't think its worth playing games on dual moitors...

In any case, the absolute best value for your buck right now is this video card(if you can find it)... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125362&cm_re=gigabyte_560-_-14-125-362-_-Product

Look up the benchmarks for that model... 1000 mhz factory overclock makes it equal to GTX570 at 100 dollars less.

You can use the money left over by not buying the GTX580 to buy new power supply and a solid state drive...or sumthin' :)

Amazing how a gaming-oriented machine comes with a 350w PSU... laughable.
