Well I geuss NINOKUNI is a good substitute from LEVEL 5 since they are doing both NINOKUNI and DQX.

Yeah, I agree. Level 5 has been a great developer this gen, Layton, DQ, Ninnokuni...

But E3 will tell us where DQX is headed. I can't iagine getting this, TLS, Xenoblade AND ToG all within 12 months of each other for the Wii. I may need no other games for...around 15 million years?

Changing sides isn't the same as backstabbing. I mean, I don't think Nintendo published DQ-DQVI anywhere.

Besides, this time, they have plenty to lose by switching sides since the best selling Wii game in Japan is well over 4m whilst the best selling PS3 game won't be touching 2m anytime soon and DQX is gonna fail in the West without Nintendo's help.

Actually, the NES release of Dragon Quest 1 (then titled Dragon Warrior) was published by Nintendo in the US. (For that matter, so was Final Fantasy 1. Was Nintendo trying to help RPGs get a foothold over here?) Enix started publishing it themselves at DQ2. Nintendo is also the US publisher of DQ6 on the DS.

It won't be coming before 2012.

2012 is the best case scenario for Japan, I'd wager it'll be coming during Spring 2012, but could be a Holiday title as well. 2013 in the US if we are lucky, Wii 2 will be a year old at the minimum before DQX hits the West.

Obvioulsy, it will sell millions.  But there is a decent argument that it would actually sell less if it goes multiplat.  I expect a high percentage of DQIX's sales in Europe were due to Nintendo's heavy advertising (in the U.K, I would say it was among the most advertised games of 2010).  Nintendo would be much less likely to advertise the game if it as multiplatform.

There's also the rumour that Dragon Quest IX wasn't even going to be localised until Nintendo stepped in, which might not have happened if it as multiplatform.  I think that the sucess of DQIX, if anything has made X going multiplatform less likely as it made Nintendo and S-E closer.

That's not to say I find it strange that S-E is barely supporting the Wii, consider one of it's biggest metatonne franchises is going to hit the console.

We all know a game called Tales of Graces. No one knew that a PS3 version was going to be released. So please stop saying that Dragon Quest X on PS3 is not possible, because it is being developed for Wii.

It's going to iPad and be selling for $10 and breaking all sales record by 30%.

Different dev, different franchises, different standards.
