This is just a vengeful spat in a divorce proceeding. The wife didn't like that he did that, and i guess her lawyer thought they could stretch an existing anti-hacking law to apply to domestic password acquisition, which is practically like re-applying the law to work against screen-peaking, and somehow they got the local prosecutor to go along with that interpretation (wierd and stupid, as the prosecutor has to have more important stuff to be working on)

 

Basically the wife just wants to send her husband to jail in all likelihood, and got this cooked up. Even if they get him on it, this sort of thing would have to be appealed because its got vast legal ramifications
