Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 owners, how did you feel about the ME2 demo?

It's a good game, but I was disappointed. I expected such a great game after all the buzz that I got disappointed.

For me it is good but not great. Feels a bit like a mixture between Dragon Age and Gears Of War.

I think I'll buy it when it's about 20€...

game is amazing. the demo is long and just before it theirs an introduction to me2 where they tell you about shepard and the reapers(what ever theyr called).

shooting mechanics are very good, its a very fun and fast paced game, the powers are easy to use, and the game is challenging, i died 3 times on normal difficulty. my only complaint is that when you order a team mate to go into cover it will stay their till you give it another command.

im already hooked into the story and i cant wait for more. other then that their are many paths, you can go explore and find ammo, which is always nice.

Glad to hear it, zgamer!!  I was a little worried that the game wouldn't live up to expectations.  I don't have any stock in the game but it always feels good when people like something I like.  There's a lot of great moments in the real game, too.  I think I'll download it this morning to see what Bioware is showing PS3 owners.

problem with the demo is you cant skip cut scenes :(

Have you tried pressing square on the dualshock?

will try that. i also want to skip the introduction to the me world.

Why would you want to skip the cut scenes? Even if you've played it more than once, that's still a blasphemy. Hope you get the YLOD, kind sir.

go to hell! i already played the demo twice, why would i want to watcht he cut scenese again all i care about is the gameplay.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

i enjoyed it dont know if il get it over LBP2 tho

I enjoyed it. Mass Effect was always on my 'games to buy should I ever buy a 360' list, so I'm glad it's come to the PS3. I agree with whoever mentioned the frame rate dropping in the cutscenes becoming a little annoying though, hopefully they smooth that over for the full release.

VGChartz

As I seem to be the only one not impressed, I'll find the exit.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Well i didnt like the first mass effect so i was pretty convinced i wouldnt like this one aswell. And unsuprisingly i was correct.

The graphics were ok, nothing special tbh, way overated. The gameplay was meh and i couldnt bring myself to finish the demo. I couldnt even complete the first mass effect on me pc so.

The thing is even when i dont like something i can still understand why someone else would but with the mass effect series i just cannot see for the life of me whats so good. I hope whoever purchases it enjoys it

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

It's amazing on the PS3!

PS3 Fans should be happy at getting such an amazing game. It's hard to think of any negative to say about the game. I played in on PC and I'm going to play it again on the PS3.

PS3 owners who haven't experienced Mass Effect, MUST play this game.  It's outstanding.

Too bad I just bought PC version last week, the comics in PS3 version does sound interesting though, I'll probably buy PS3 version as well when the price goes down just to see the comics.

I was surprised to see not much was lost in the port from PC; mostly just resolution and frame rates.

It really just says that there is currently no excuse for any shoddy PC ports of games on the PS3 hardware. If they are released, it simply meant the developers did not have the time or resources to do a proper port. Basically, the hardware excuse just left the building.

Even though I never finished the game (never got into the story), the PS3 demo did have me reinstalling the game on the PC hooked up to my HDTV so I could do a comparison on the same display. At 1280x720, it's not much of a gap although the PC version will run much smoother depending on your hardware.

On a related note, Steam is currently selling ME2 during their holiday sales promotion for a mere $9.99, making a $59.99 MSRP a little bit harder to accept, but it's good for those who really wanted to play this game and were unable to play it on PC or Xbox.
