Slightly disappointed, but we'll have to wait til the ten week values to fairly compare =/



All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.

That's not really the same.  User base has proven to not matter much when it comes to sales, particularly this gen (see MGS3 vs MGS4, GoW2 vs GoW3, GeoW vs GeoW2, etc).

But releasing a big game during the holiday season vs late winter/early spring DOES matter.  A huge holiday release will always have larger initial sales numbers.

Yes, but releasing a game in the holidays does not necessarily mean higher lifetime sales. Mass Effect 2 is a perfect example of this, and I'm sure LBP2 and Dead Space 2 will also do the same.

This is why I expect GT5 to fall short of GT4 sales, wuite noticably too. Not only is it selling less week 1, despite black friday in US, and Holiday sales boosting stutus, but week 2 in EMEAA and Japan are A LOT weaker then week 2 for GT4.

GT5 is tracking below GT4 in EMEAA in Week 2 by around 20,000 ... that's not alot. Japan I agree with though.



Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

It's not a failure.  You can't go by a forum if you expect intelligent numbers.  People here are fans, they don't take these polls seriously.  If you saw GT3's numbers, you'd know it wasn't that bad.  Please stop being a troll.

Launch numbers in no way reflect what GT5 will ultimately do.

Be sensible, NA numbers and Black friday.  Why would a new release that has no discount sale superbly on BF ? games that have their price cut in half get nice sales increases not full priced titles. 

Japan as a culture is pulling away from a automotive lyfestyle. 

GT5 fianl sales will depend on Europe, where it has already broken sale records in some nations there and also in new markets that have opened up and will be grown ME Asia SA.

Gaf is saying Sony has already shipped 5.2 million copies WW. That means they have already outshipped GT5P in a couple weeks.

agree...i think that releasing a game under the holiday maximize the sales in the short term but it will cut the long term ones

Gaf say GT5 sold 400k for november.

So we have it 70k overtracked here. Unless it did 70k bundles. Which you would think would be possible. But would mean a high number of that weeks console sales were the GT5 bundle.

GT become huge in EMEA after GT4. No wonder GT5 already have shipped 3.72m there, will easly pass 5m by next year. GT5 will have to sell 6.5-7 million in EMEA alone to pass 10m world wide. In Japan it will stop at 750-800k, and in NA 2.5m.
