FINAL FANTASY XIII CROSSES 6 MILLION Units!

6.25 Million 19 13.77%

6.50 Million 17 12.32%

6.75 Million 16 11.59%

7.00 Million 32 23.19%

7.25 Million 7 5.07%

7.50 Million 46 33.33%

Total:137

Great sales. Game was disappointment though (imo). Plot was messy and game was too linear (where is my towns?). Excuse for lack of HD towns was also laughable. Characters were fine but dialog was unbeliavable cheesy. Battle system was pretty good (though I would prefer traditional turn based combat system...). Soundtrack was also great like with every mainline FF game. Not bad game by any means but not exactly same kind of unique experience as FFX.

I am proud to announce the 13th Fantasy Epic has crossed 6 Million in Sales Units meeting Square-Enix's sales expectations!!

Console Breakdown:

PS3 - 4.38 Million

Xbox 360 -- 1.63 Million

Total -- 6.01 Million

________________________

Region Breakdown:

Japan -- 1.86 Million

NA -- 2.09 Million

EMEAA -- 2.03 Million

_________________________

Fun Facts:

- First time a FF title has sold more in NA/EU than in Japan.

- Lowest Selling FF title in Japan since FF4

- Only 190K away from beating FFX in EMEAA.....which would then make FFXIII 2nd Best Selling FF Title in EMEAA (behind VII)

- 250K away from beating FFVIII in NA......which would then make FFXIII 3rd Best Selling FF title in NA (behind X, VII)

- Too far away from beating any other FF title in Japan to be considered seriously

- Not looking at this week (due to holiday boost effect), but weeks from a month ago its been showing legs of roughly 3 times more than FF12.

- Ration between PS360 is 1 : 2

- There is a Xbox 360 version being released in Japan which may push it over 2 Million there

Hahahaha, FFXIII International will be lucky to sell through 100K units in Japan.

?....whats so funny azbout that it only needs 140k to pass over the 2 million mark.

You know for a game that focused on graphics? It's not even a nominee for Best Graphics in the VGA. I wonder why...

What I want from a game.

Gameplay > Story > Content > Graphics

Visual Style > Graphics

Smooth Camera, Intuitive Controls

Friction! When everything feels right!

I'd agree that it FFXIII put a bad taste for fanboys, but not for the average gamer ;)

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

Probabily because of the hands, which look awful, FF12s characters has slender hands, and you could see their fingernails and rings, etc. in FF13 all you see is blocky hands and fingers. i have no idea how they developed a brand new game engine and made such a rookie mistake.

the textures and the faces look excellent though, better than GoW3 and Uncharted imo, and as always the hair looks incredible, there must be so many polygons in Lightnings hair, probabily why Snow wears a cap.

6 million is not that bad but its legs isnt that impressive. I mean DQIX which isnt a franchise known for having great legs is currently outselling BOTH versions combined by quite a marge in the West where FF games were always way more popular than DQ games in the past.

Well at least Square-Enix must be happy.

And FFIX (IMO the best Post VII FF game) only achieved 5.30m, something's not right

All pre PS2 FF games are the final shipment sales.

They are real numbers and yes it must've been a massive disappointment in terms of sales for them.

Since when has FF been a franchise known for legs?  (barring VII) Even then XIII is showing legs 3 times better than XII.

Quite a margin? by like 7K...which isn't much.... definitely not "quite a margin"

Last week FFXIII outsold DQIX BTW....this week DQIX has shot up though.

Not to mention DQIX is *still* being advertised on TV with Jedward commercials in the UK.

I'm not trolling here, but

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_13?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=final fantasy&x=0&y=0&sprefix=final fantasy

on amazon UK, for the 360, FF13 is in the bargain bin, FF12 on the PS2 is more expensive on the same site. the PS3 version seems to be fairing a little better, and i think amazon us is similar, not sure. but it seems that this explains some of those sales. but i'm not saying this is bad, there still very good sales.

imo FF9, came really late in the PS1 cycle, FF8 hurt it i think. and i think a lot of fans were looking foward to photorealism, but were dissapointed when FF9 was more cartoony, even though i think its a very good game, and i revisted it a couple of years ago to get Excalabur 2, shocking hard quest!!
