THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO DECLARE THAT YOU WISH TO VOTE, ANYONE WISHING TO TAKE PART AFTER THE 10TH DECEMBER WON'T BE ALLOWED!!

GAME OF THE YEAR 2010

 

You can't be fooled to se that there's only 50 days left in this year. So, with that in mind, how about a GOTY thread to keep everyone nice and cosy to ride out the drought of games coming this Christmas o.O. So basically, I'd like you to list your top 5 games in order of your favourite first and 5th favourite 5th etc. After this, I'll tally up all the points and allocate indefinitely the best games of the year 2010 down to all-out best, best console, best developer, and best on each console. SALES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS!

Just a few things to keep in mind;

 

  • The game released will have to be in the range of 1st January-25th December 2010 (anything after that time and they won't be in in time for the votes to be tallied)
  • You have to have personally played this game for it to count (i.e. no Japanese game such as Xenoblade allowed)
  • Voting  closes on the 24th December.
  • If you'd like to take part then declare underneath your intent and I'll put you down.
  • You HAVE to put the console you played it on if not obvious
  • Again, it HAS TO HAVE BEEN RELEASED THIS YEAR!
    • So, start racking your brains for your favourite games, and get voting!

    I would love to provide my input. Hmm... Let's see...

    1. Halo Reach
    2. Darksiders (X360 and now PC)
    3. Mass Effect 2 (PC)
    4. Heavy Rain
    5. Alan Wake

    I gave the edge to Heavy Rain over Alan Wake because I felt more involved in the story in Heavy Rain and there's a greater replay value to it than Alan Wake. I'd tie them if that were allowed and put God of War 3 at 5th. Really though that list is full of disappointment as I've written before.

    EDIT: My list is subject to change when I get my hands on Kirby Epic Yarn, GT5 and possibly Metroid: Other M. No Fable 3 and AC: B for me this year

    I hope you realise that we do have official Game of the Year awards here, and that those threads will be up relatively soon.

    Oh don't get me wrong. This year was full of solid gaming. I just had my expectatioins too high and I have quite a few irks with each of those games. I wrote a giant reason why in a thread a while back and don't want to repeat it here. All great games but all fell well short of what I expected. I've become my worst nightmare; an impossible to please, cranky critic! :-|

    sorry I can't have my list complete without playing GT5 or DKCR

    But I will only get to play them in mid December

    I hope thats ok?

    Same as Darth, I can't post without GT5 in my hands. Because I have the feeling that GOW3 will lose its first place in my list.
