Things got ugly when a black mail carrier refused to take back a letter he'd delivered to a lady in Hingham, Mass. She went on a racist rant and slapped him. He secretly taped it all on his cell phone.

The argument in the video is sparked by a certified letter that the mail carrier delivers. The woman has signed for it, but decides she doesn't want it because it's addressed to her husband, not her. But the mail guy won't take it back. Things go sour when she calls him a "Fucking n*gger thief." She quickly qualifies: "I'm not prejudiced but right now I'm getting real pissed off." Then everything she says afterward is so racist it would make George Wallace blush. Finally she slaps him. Just your normal day on the mail route. Except really, really racist.

The video was uploaded in two parts on October 11th by youtube userhugsonamic, who purports to be the mail guy and claims he was fired over the incident:

This woman is outrageous — I am still waiting for US Postal Inspection Service to investigate this matter. it has been a year since postmaster fired me for this racist lady, and Hingham court let her go free, no trial.

He promises "More videos are yet to come." But these two might be enough. It's already been picked up by a handful of blogs, and dozens of Youtube comments are calling for blood, including one that reads, ominously: "4CHAN FIND HER!!"

I've never been so angry in my life and it disgusts me that this kind of blatant racism can still go on and then go unpunished in this day and age. 4Chan have got all her address details and I really hope they ruin the rest of her year. 

Well this put me in blind rage mode. This is some of the stupidest crap I have seen in a while.

Racism will never go away, the media will turn a deft ear to the issue like they did here in this case, but people will always hate people because of the color of their skin.

This happned in the USA, so im not surprised. I was raised to fuck people if they called me a nigger, and you know what every black person should do the same, you get called a nigger simply make a fist and start beating the sorry sob that made the mistake, then leave them there on the floor with a helpless look on their face. Very satisfying.

What exactly should be done about racism? Not regarding that video, but calling someone a nigger or a cracker or whatever shouldn't be against the law. People are allowed to be racist as they should be.

Nigger is just a word you should not hurt people for using certain words, freedom of speech and all that. If someone insults a black man by calling him a nigger and the black man physically attacks the other person back and the black man was not provoked in any other way then the Black man is at much greater fault than the person who insulted him.

Right people should be allowed to hold whatever beliefs they have.  It doesn't mean we can't think of them as despicable people though.  As for what should be done?  Education and integration are our only hope.  People are less likely to be racist when they are raised around people of other races.  It's really the only solution that makes sense biologically.  Humans are wired to have a tribal mindset.  We make first time character judgements based looks before we get to know a person, if the person looks like you or your family, you're more likely to trust them.

You know I would have to disagree with you on who provoked whom, my guess is that you've never been the brunt of a racial attack.  But the fact that so many black people use the word nigger so often makes it partially their own fault for getting called that.  You want a word to die you stop using it.

responding to an insult by fighting is by default an error .... but everybody can lose his temper, everybody can make an error ...

what makes me rly sad is that loy310 seems very happy about what he wrote and the way he was raised ...

And what kind of image does that promote? I honestly don't get why people get so worked up about comments made from idiots, if I get any homophobic crap aimed my way I brush it off, they're just absoloutely worthless and not worth my time, certainly wouldn't go to the bother of beating them up, not to pleading for all black people to beat racists up, not all of them are defensless women, the racist is more than likelt going to retaliate and you could end up worse off.
