In terms of appeal, I can't see the Xbox ever competiting with the PS3 after the holiday season in the forseeable future. Even so, it seems that the PS3 has won both Japan and will continue winning the Others group for the rest of its existence, with price coming down and more exclusives that fit the tastes of these two regions.

Some say it is due to the price cuts, but its been over a month since prices dropped in Europe so that doesnt seem to be the case anymore, yet the gap between the two keeps widening, with Singstar PS3 being released soon. Is it safe to say that both Europe and Japan are both Sony territories, as far as the battle between high-def consoles go?

And if thats the case, how will the Xbox360 maintain its lead over the PS3 with only America left, being that the PS3 is bound to outsell the 360 a few months next year due to its multiple killer apps coming next year.

IN others possibly.

Probably not, but they will continue to beat the PS3 world wide even without those two territories.

Others is a possibility, especially around the release of GTA4 but I think the PS3 has finally taken hold in terms of consistently outselling the 360.

This holiday period I see being great for the PS3 in others, with Singstar and Uncharted both released.

Sony can take america back. With those huge AAA games next year.

America is too huge of a market for Sony to lose out on,which they are, so its a net net.

Maybe but I don't think so and WW will be pretty tight a couple of months after Christmas I can see Xbox 360 sales going down quite a lot in North America ( obviously Ps3 sales will come down too but maybe not as much because of Others and Japan)

Another question is if the PS3 will ever outsell the 360 in the US again? (It happened for 3 weeks in July of '07 during the "price cut" and it hasn't happened since.)

Microsoft also has AAA games.

 Sonys sales in America have been steadily improving, I can only see this carrying on. Sonys popularity in America will continue to increase, I cant see anything happening to stop that.
