Okay the platforming and exploring is also top-notch.

Everything can really hurt you in this game if you let it. Even those swarms of little flying things.

One crazy long CGI sequence at the beginning, about her past in the military, but otherwise i haven't seen anything untoward.

My only disappointment was the cute little furry thing. I expected that to mutate into some sorta supervillain and try to swallow me whole, though i suppose that would be more Sin and Punishment than Metroid :P

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Keep going.

Foofy anime bullshit aside, this game has some great imagery.

And yeah, the difficulty is nice. Definitely Team Ninja's fingerprint on that one.

Some of the setpieces are really nice. Wait until you go through the pyrosphere for the first time.

I think people were exaggerating on how long the cutscenes are...

This game is awesome

I couldn't get it yet. >..

I'll just wait 'till December or so to (finally) get Fragile and this. Might as well pick up a classic controller and try out Super Metroid.

Dumb wish list is super long. >.<

I envy you guys!!!

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!

I've been loving this game so far. The overblast technique is alot of fun to use and the differetn enemies. I haven't had a problem using the missles in First person view, i actually like the tension of trying to find  a good time to use it to take out some enemies and bosses. The controls take a bit of a learning curve but they  are overall good imo. The story's ok if a little anime cliche, which i'm fine with. Wasn't expecting uncharted 2 quality or something. And i so far like samus' voice, her inner monolouge sounds a bit weird and awkwardly worded at times but its still good.

Somethings i don't like are those forced First person views where you have to find some tiny little thing, they really break the flow of the game, as well as those over the shoulder view points where things get all slow.

I like the game alot, samus moving really fast is cool and the lethal strikes never get old.

About where Khuutra was when he first posted his comments (Just got the Disruptor Beam, which is pretty neat).

I pretty much agree with his inital assessment of the game, minus the super angry part. The dialogue is cheesy ("Okay. Confession time" will live in infamy. It's pretty bad.), and her relationship with Adam is borderline creepy (Very relieved when he was deemed a "father figure". I was about to throw my controller at the T.V. if it was anything more than that.), but the cut scenes aren't that bad. I mean, they're not good... but they're not what G4TV or GameInformer were saying (like I was going to believe them anyways).

I'm a little annoyed every time Samus is in her Zero suit though, because there's some camera angles that really make me roll my eyes. I've never thought of Samus as a sexual video game diva along the lines of Laura Croft (I actually find all of those Zero Suit fan pictures to be somewhat comical, since they really don't portray the Samus I play as at all.), so I find it annoying that her character has the potential to be taken advantage of.

Main complaint: Directional pad. A joystick would do wonders in this game. Still, this game is by no means an 6 or even a 7. The game gets the action down, and the bosses are pretty wicked. The gameplay is pretty much there... so I guess it all goes back to the character of Samus. That's whats going to divide fans on Other M methinks.

And as for defining the classics: I'd put Metroid Prime 3 in there with Super and Prime 1. Zero Mission is great too...

Oh, was anyone else crushed by that elevator? It was a "d'oh!" moment for sure.

cut scenes are pretty long..at first..but so far..damn this is a great game..some issues here and there...but the boss battles are nuts. Love the FPS mode. anyone havin issues tho with their disc reading?
