hd consoles but im kind of bias cause i dont like mario, zelda, or metroid game.

I prefer playing games on the 360 or PS3 purely because of achievements. There are Wii games I really want to play but I'd rather play games I'm less excited about on the 360/PS3 because I get something (even if it's meaningless) for it.

As for the actual question if I find HD more or less enjoyable, it doesn't matter.  Only the game matters. 

New Super Mario Bros. Wii would be exactly as fun in HD as it currently is and Gears of War wouldn't suddenly be worse if it were on the Wii.

Gears would be worse on the wii because the # of players in a online match would likely be reduced and horde mode would likely be cut from it. Look at Nazi Zombies in COD:W@W to see my point.

You really don't know that and it really doesn't matter.

A game should be exactly as fun with a series of gray boxes as a game with final art so the HD really doesn't matter to how fun a game is.

I'm not saying graphics don't matter at all, they do, but they don't necessarily affect the fun of a game and definately don't affect the overall games on the console as a whole.

Since you include quantity of games and "better for gamers" (gamers being us) in the thread, I'd have to go with the HD systems.  There's simply more great games to choose from; right now anyway...

Wii because Nintendo gives me free games XD and also I like Nintendo games but it's pretty hard choosing between them because I like online gaming.

HD in a land-slide. i hate the direction nintendo is focusing on...that's why i nearly stopped buying anything for my wii and have bought a ton of games for my ps3 over the last year or two.

I've got a Wii and PS3, and as much as I love nintendo, I've gotta go for the PS3.  The games are generally better.  Only nintendo seems capable of making any decent games on the Wii, most of the other publishers seem to suck at it.  PS3 has loads of excellent (and adult themed) games now, and I have a huge backlog of games to play on it (because FFXIII took up so much of my time!).  I barely ever play my Wii nowadays, the last game I played on it was NSMBWii (which was excellent) and I won't play it again till 'super meat boy' comes out.

Also (for reasons I can't understand) I'm a total trophy junkie, which gives me more incentive to play the PS3  

The Wii is by no means a bad console, but I definatley prefer the PS3
