PS3 console system sales will rain down from the sky in second half of 2010 onwards. Gran Turismo 5 launch week will see 2 million PS3 sold in one one week. 6 million copies of Gran turismo 5 will sell in its launch week.
PS3 will sell a minimum of 15 million console systems in 2010. It could reach a high of 18 million PS3 sold in 2010.

Like many others have already stated, whenever it begins selling for $199. I don't see that happening until the fall of 2011.

If they get to $199 this year they might peak higher then 2009, but if they don't get to $199 until next year then they have already peaked.

I could see that, and I think Sony would be perfectly satisfied with it. They even said that the PS3 was made with the intent of living a long life. I assume they are aiming for a longer life than the PS2 had. I honestly think that is why they made the PS3 the complex, power machine that it is. If developers are still making break-throughs for the PS3 it's still considered a young console. Xbox 360 was rather easy to engineer for, which enabled excellent graphics for its early games that were far superior to other consoles, but in turn caused the console to reach its full potential early on, which is leading companies like R* and THQ to say that Xbox 360 has already been maxed. Remember a few years ago the best selling console wasn't the PS3 or 360 or even the Wii? It was the PS2. I could see years from now, the PS4 and Xbox 720 will be released, but the PS3 will be selling the best. It's Sony's long-term strategy.

Don't why it you'd call it failed. But my reasoning is I don't think another price cut will have as big an affect on PS3 hw as the last 100$ + remodel has had on it. I just don't.

The point he is trying to make is that ps3 is already up 750k over last year at this time and is trending higher and higher. By December, ps3 will be more than 1M up over last year, assuming it doesn't cut any prices at all.
