Forums - Gaming Discussion - GT5 vs Forza 3 Sceenshot Comparison... Can You Tell The Diffrence?

^ Lol. Just noticed that.

Basically I know the video doesn't mean GT is equal to real life, and driving for real is always going to be different, nomatter how much, compared to driving in real life.

But, it does show just how realistic GT is, and this realism is by far good enough for sim racing fans.

Surely, even you Selnor can realise that GT is lightyears ahead of all these random games you keep on promoting - like F1 2010, like NFS Shift. Sure, great fun games - but why do you have to keep on bringing up 'facts' noone has ever heard about to makes these games sound more realistic in GT - when they even get the basics wrong.

For example, you talked a lot about F3's tyre deformation, when in that same game on the most realistic settings you could swirve from on side of the track to the other at 150mph without hassle, in a standard car.

For example, you talked about how realistic the tyre system in F1 2010 is - but it is at its heart an arcade game (which I will love btw)

I'm not a huge PS fan, I just hate misinformation and your hate. Even here, you talked about how Top Gear 'ripped apart' GT physics - trying to make GT look bad...even though the game you were talking about was years old on the PS2 when the discussion is about the present.

I'm actually, being serious here, 90% confident you work for MS. C'mon, MS employees have a history of bashing Sonys big racer. Even look at Kinect - you, the hardcore gamer - are painting the picture of you and your kids playing it for joy. You talk about your wife loving it etc.

Basically, you are one hell of a marketing machine lol. People see right through it and I'm only gona reply to you from now on when you have something legit to say.

"you, the hardcore gamer - are painting the picture of you and your kids playing it for joy. You talk about your wife loving it etc."

Please stop, you're making me laugh my ass off hahahahahaha.

I'm surprised at Lestatdark, considering youve raced yourself. And how much your into F1.

You should be able to see exactly why that video of GT5P shows lack of realism. Not realism.

Just shows ( not aimed at Lestatdark ) to many people who think they know about racing play GT these days. Because of it's huge name, people think something it's not.

It reminds me of some of the guys who started watching F1 in 2005 or 6 for instance. Posting on forums thinking they know it all. And yet are so far from having a clue.

Watch again in the video.

Massa is explaining each corner and gear he is using. there is at least 7 times weher he states a gear he used for the corner where GT5P footage next to it didnt even use the gear.

Massa says " Here right up to 7th"

GT5P footage only used up to 6.

Another he says down to gear 2. GT5P only down to 3.

This happened alot in the video you guys call realisitc. In an F1 car, missing these gears is enough to make the difference to Massas time 2 secs on it's own for the lap.

Like I said GT5P 'time marry's'.

Get your head out of the clouds and watch and 'listen' to the footage again. The GT5P gear number is displayed right there for you to see the issues.

I didn't even saw the video. I think the argument for comparing a simulator, be it GT, Forza, rFactor, GTR, GP2 or any other to a real lap is pretty pointless.

I just found it odd that he commented exactly like a comment in the video comments on youtube. That's why I think he didn't even bother to come up with a reply, he just copy pasted it.

Fair enough. :)

That bolded and underlined part really intrigues me, posting on forums, thinking they know it all... Doesn't that remind you of someone selnor? Search in the past, you'll find the truth.

Best of all, Chunx had some real "Jeremy" moments as he performed a lurid power slide out of Hammerhead that were very difficult to maintain, easy to over-cook and felt very realistic (really, more realistic than FM3, where that edge of the physics model seems to be toned down a bit).

... the SimHQ racers came away with some very positive impressions of the demo's AI, physics and tire modeling, at least on paved surfaces. In addition, after longer exposure to the game, the force feedback and wheel resistance from the Logitech DFGT seemed to be quite good — certainly more robust than in GT5-Prologue.

Good news to GT5 Fans. Hopefully the dirt physics will improve by Nov.

P.S    ISR  admitted they rated Forza 3 a little higher than they would after playing it for a while.  For example damage physics is somewhat lacking when you can slam a car into a wall with only  visual damage.   Forza 3 like GT5 are not full sims since they are aiming to sell millions of copies where the majority will be driving with a controller.  F1 2010 as well as Colin McRae series (Dirt) has move toward  more arcade physics because they sell better than true sims. This doesn't bother me  as long it doesn't lean too much toward arcade.
