Got the Wii U version as a present before the Switch version was even announced. Just getting around to playing it now.

    got a 3DS!

And quite the decent system it is! I'm pleasantly surprised it's still seeing releases. Excited to play Etrian Oddysey Nexus, in 2019!

    on 15 September 2018

Wow! I never thought I would see you again! This is awesome!

    on 16 September 2018

It is a nice little system. I got the New 3DS XL with the Galaxy finish. It seems like I have so little time to play though.

I've got Luigi's Mansion, Ocarina of Time, NSMB 2, A Link Between Worlds, Metroid Samus Returns, Mega Man Legacy Collection, Retro City Rampage, and Severed.

    on 16 September 2018

I feel you on the time thing. I haven't bought a single 3DS game this year, even though it's had some games I still want. Shoot, I haven't played about a third of my Switch games, and some of them are huge time sinks...

    on 16 September 2018

I haven't even bothered to buy a Switch yet. Hell, I was late to both the 3DS and Wii U too.

Finished this one. Fun game, with funny writing. I thought the single player campaign introduced all the concepts very well.

This game is perfect for the touch screen controls. Probably would not have liked the Wii Remote controls as much for this one.

Didn't put a ton of time into this one. Got a few of the achievements, but most look pretty difficult. I could probably double my time with it and still not have them all. Just going to move on instead.

    I give it a solid B.

Got 60 Water Sprites and 4000 Diamonds. Just have to finish the Grannie Medals. Just got the first two so far.

    on 17 May 2017

Finished all the Grannie Medals. Done with this game.

    on 21 May 2017

I had heard some good things about this game, but I wasn't a big fan. It is mostly just a slow, station to station platformer, that requires high precision. Everything is just on set repeating paths, so most of the game is just watching and figuring out when is the right time to move.

Controls are rock solid. Music is good. Art style I felt a little bland. Game could have used better direction at the beginning. No explanation of what you are collecting or why, No explanation of what the symbols on the doors mean. It wasn't even in the manual. Makes the beginning a little overwhelming. Should have made the doorway to the Ghost World only appear after you collect the first 20 Sprites.

Also, what does G-land, V-land, and CGA-land mean? I think it means Gameboy, Virtual Boy, and Color Graphics Adapter, but why just drop those into the game with no explanation?

I give it a C+. Slightly above average platformer.

    on 18 February 2017

3 gold stars, 1 silver. Finished in 2:51. Need to finish under 2:30. Seems tough.

    on 26 February 2017

4 gold stars! Finished in 2:25. Just five minutes to spare. Time to move to another game.

    finished Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

Interesting game. Never played anything quite like it. Closest Wii game I can compare it to is Cursed Mountain. Shattered Memories is better than that game in every way.

Pretty interesting game so far. I like it a lot. Very different from most games.

    on 19 November 2016

The nightmare in the high school and in your apartment were not bad. The one in the hospital was tough. Seemed like going in the hospital at all was just a big loop. Staying outside by the trains made it super easy.

is in the High School in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.

The nightmare section in the forest seemed a lot easier than the first one.

The first one had a loop that took you right back to the beginning if you went the wrong way. The forest one was a pretty straight shot. Seems backward to have the first one be tough and the second one easy.

I never finished it. So I just picked up where I left off, about 40 hours in. I played around to get the feel for it back, and am advancing again. I just made it past the part with the Reborn Dragon in the cage.

Down to the wire now. Game 6 tomorrow.

    on 24 May 2016

And that's the series. Sorry about winning, and I do mean that: you guys are one of the few franchises that also haven't exactly had success going all the way.

I vote we gang up on amp, and take some of his team's wins.

    on 26 May 2016

Amp is a Blackhawk fan, right? I'm down.

    on 27 May 2016

Yeah, almost 50 years now. Haven't seen the finals since 1970. I hope you guys win. Although I would have been rooting for Bishop and the Lightening had they advanced, Pittsburgh doesn't need another cup though.

    on 27 May 2016

I also hate the new playoff format. Not to take anything away from the Sharks, but the Blues seemed tired. They blew their chance when they didn't eliminate Chicago in 5 or 6, or Dallas in 6.

    on 27 May 2016

Wholly agreed. It's no secret that the Sharks planned to use the extra rest from the get go, especially since it's already been a very, very extended playoff season.

    on 29 May 2016

Too, bad. Not the outcome I was looking for.

    on 14 June 2016

It was inevitable. Our wings were waxen, and we flew way too close to the sun!

In all seriousness, they made it three rounds further than I expected, so I certainly can't complain.
