Switch time and time again keeps smashing it in software sales with a relatively small user base. I've been thinking about your overlap theory ever since you brought it up. You've made a believer out of me.
If you want to know more about Bloodborne's story, let me know. It's something I took a deep interest in when the game came out, and did a lot of personal research on to piece together. And *that* is why I like it. It's the difference between buying a painting and buying a puzzle. They both display the same image, but one demands you earn it.
This video covers a lot of the "plotholes".
Since I actually like discussing these things, and find you more reasonable my reply to you:
One thing, people do factor the price of gas mileage and in general energy intake in making a car purchase, or maybe everyone I know does, oh well. Same with features and options of the car.
That aside, in regards to value, that is up to beholder, but realistically PC accomplishes a lot more than the ps4 does, thus the costs associated with it obviously would be higher, if it was not than you might run into some problems. Value is also on the ps4 side as well, otherwise everyone would be still gaming on last generation and it would not be one of the more successful consoles, and potentially the most profitable console to date. The bias of the op is apparent, since honestly this is a night and day comparison.
Also I did mention hidden costs on all fronts, not one front (PC has hidden costs as well). I can think many hidden costs on both sides. Opportunity costs, waiting period on certain games. You also have different variety of options and choices.
I think it has a lot to do with the decline of the Xbox Brand and how they basically shot themselves in the foot at the beginning of this generation. Plus I imagine one of the huge draws being Local Multiplayer being taken out (might have been not in reach) hurt a couple of my friends interest in it.

How can they still call it switch though? and it's funny the amount of flak I got years ago when I predicted that this is the direction Nintendo was going. I said the switch is a handheld that's pretending to be a home console. I also said the switch is the successor to the 3ds and should be considered as a handheld first. now this happens. Nintendo actually stripped functionality from...
I saw it coming.... what I didn't see coming though was the nerfing. At the very least they could have just let you connect a cable to it and that cable to your TV.I personally expected them to keep the NS general FF but just take ou the dock and replace that with a cable. That way its feature identical with the original NS as opposed to what they have done here. Strange choice. Right now,its a...
This 20M thing again. Its like you guys just like the sound of 20M. Think about this, as far as weekly sales go, the 2019 FY sales so far for the Nintendo switch is still 1M behind PS4 2018 sales at the same time last year. And the PS4 ended up selling only 18M for that year. The PS4 also had a $199 boost for a while last year along with Spiderman and RDR2. I'll say again... week 26 2018...
