Popularity isn't asked for here. Sure GTA, COD, Battlefield, Halo are very popular. But do they create a cultural phenomenom?

I can talk to my sister or my mother about Pikachu and they have an inkling what I talk about. But Master Chief? COD doesn't even feature something memorable, no figure, scenery or something else associated with. Assassins Creed have Templars and Assassins, but both words are more well known for their original meaning for the Everyday Joe. How much T-Shirts with battlefield themes do you have compared to Pokemon themes? That is a cultural phenomenom.

That said, Minecraft does have the potential.
