The Shield tablet also includes two 5 MP camera's front and back (Wii-U tablet has one 1.3 MP front camera). The Wii-U tablet offcourse has physical buttons, but this is more a design choice than cost So how do they stack up? Well from a hardware perspective it's the screen that really stand out. The Shield has a larger screen with five times the resolution. On power terms they look reasonably matched, though the Shield clearly has more modern tech. The big point of this comparison? The Shield is an fully mobile tablet with all hardware incorperated into the device, the Wii-U's tablet is only an controller. In fact the Shield tablet even weighs less including all this hardware(though the Wii-U gamepad is probably the tougher built). Bottom line: Tablets have caught up to the Wii-U. What do you guys think is it time for Nintendo to redisign the Wii-U? Can it even be redisigned with the current hardware? Seeing as Nvidia is an hardware company the Shield will have a descent profit margin at $299, and that's with a much more expensive screen(the Wii-U would probably only need an 1280x720 screen). Is Wii-U's hardware even viable for the near future? Please give your opinion in the comments below. |
