God of War is probably going to win GOTY, though I could see RDR2 winning. My personal nod of those nominees would be Spider-Man.

If Xenoblade was ineligible last year because it released in December then it must have a nomination for best RPG this year. And Smash should get several nominations next year. The awards are tainted if they always ignore December games.

Best art style-has to be Octopath. Not sure I'd give that game the nod in any other category, but that one it should get without a doubt. Very unique and striking.

-AC Odyssey is definitely an RPG, not an action-adventure game and should have been nominated as such.

And here I thought I couldn't lose any more respect for you. Why is it that almost every post of yours makes me dislike you even more? Politics or games, it doesn't matter; almost every post you make is dripping with nonsense. Is there a way to just censor out everything you post?

A good nomination list, I played about 85-90% of the mentioned games this year - with my friends and alone :) God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2 have the most nominations, both games have an incredible quality. Absolutely deserves.

These are my thoughts :)
Game of the Year: I vote for God of War.
For me personally: Dragon Quest Xi, but God of War/Red Dead Redemption 2 is awesome too. Really hard to say!

Best Game Direction: Detroit: Become Human (Quantic Dream / Sony Interactive Entertainment)
Awarded to a game studio for outstanding creative vision and innovation in game direction and design.

For outstanding storytelling and narrative development in a game. Best Narrative: Detroit: Become Human and God of War!

For outstanding creative and/or technical achievement in artistic design and animation.
Best Art Direction: Red Dead Redemption 2 and the God of War

Best Score / Music: Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom (Level-5 / Bandai Namco Entertainment) – Joe Hisaishi.
Number 2 God of War.
For outstanding music, inclusive of score, original song and/or licensed soundtrack.

Best Audio Design: God of War (SIE Santa Monica Studio / Sony Interactive Entertainment)
Recognizing the best in-game audio and sound design.

Awarded to an individual for voice-over acting, motion and/or performance capture. Best Performance:

Soooo hard to say. Number 1 for me.. Bryan Dechart as Connor in Detroit: Become Human or Christopher Judge as Kratos in God of War.
Yuri Lowenthal as Peter Parker in Spider-Man Game was very funny and better than in the Spiderman-movies.

For the best game experience playable in virtual or augmented reality, irrespective of platform.

Best VR / AR Game: 1. Astro Bot: Rescue Mission 2. Moss

Best Action / Adventure Game: God of War (SIE Santa Monica Studio / Sony Interactive Entertainment)
For the best action / adventure game, combining combat with traversal and puzzle solving.
Spiderman, Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are fantastic too.

Best Role-Playing Game: Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age (Orca / Square Enix)

For the best game designed with rich player character customization and progression.


Best Fighting Game: Dragon Ball FighterZ (Arc System Works / Bandai Namco Entertainment)

Best Strategy Game: The Banner Saga 3 (Stoic Studio / Versus Evil).

Best Debut Game: Moss (Polyarc Games)
Favorite Moment of 2017: Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, together : D

That's a lot of eSports. That's also a lot of Red Dead Redemption II.

There is no denying it's ugly. Either make a 2D pixel art game or make a 3D game, don't try to combine the two, the end result is an eyesore. And I'm far from the only one who feels that way, I know alot of other people who find it ugly as well. Hopefully one of the 3 AAA's or the indie wins that category. 

Also, trust me, if there was a way to block people on here you would be blocked for me as well, because I feel the same way about you, especially in regards to politics

Yeah, I guess actually caring about people and wanting the world to be a better place for all makes me a pretty terrible person, eh? 

Also, knowing a lot of people who think a game is ugly doesn't make it so. The vast majority of gamers agree that Octopath Traveller is beautiful, so much so that it was probably the most prevalent compliment it got from reviewers and gamers alike as well as the reason it's nominated for best art direction. You are entitled to your (Misguided) opinion, but your ability to reason and your assertions are so very far off base and not worthy of respect.

God of War everything.

I don't know about everyone else..... but that game totally ruined every other game for me this year. With all other games I just kindaknew what to expect going in and eventually they all fell into a sort of pattern. With GOW, from start to finish I just kept on getting wowed. Like I was discovering something nw at every turn.

Only other times in my life I had those kinda feels were Ocarina of time, SoTC, MGS, GOW1, FFT, Vagrant story, U2, Horizon ad now GOW.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 definitely deserved a spot in RPG and soundtrack.

GOW and RDR2 are tied for nominations. I think 8 a piece or 9. Basically every single category that there is one the other is right there too.

True GOTY contenders right there. As far as I am conncerned any true GOTY should at least have over 5 nominations.
