Forums - Gaming Discussion - If Sony and Microsoft offered a $20 a year plan, would you buy?

Depends on what I’m losing out on. If the $20 option is simply a paywall, and I lose features like Trophies, user ID, messaging, party chat, communities, events, game streaming, and have to use an app on the side to do some of those things, then no. It wouldn’t be worth it in the slightest.

Very much so. I probably only utilize about 40% of the Xbox Live features anyhow.

Yes. In fact I prefer Nintendo's $20 dollar fee with few bells and whistles. Why? Because I only play online games for about three months out of the year, and that costs around $20 anyway. So if MS/Sony changed to the $20 plan, then I'd get more time out of the year to play online, with the same amount of money.

Look at it as a cost to time problem. $20 to play for a year is better than $20 to play for three months.

Depends on what exactly the service provides overall, bare bones or not, but for $20 I have to assume it would be worth it for myself personally, to stick with the existing service since I find the free games to be worth it. There is no doubt most of my friends would go with the $20 package though. They are quite cheap, split on games and share them, can't stand having to pay for online, and don't really care about the free games, so I would be the minority of the group.

$25 and throw in voice chat and I'm in, don't think I could go back to in game chats anymore.

Hmm, pie.
