Gamegears said: Actually lack of a Eshop is not helping things at all.. and yes this is below average for The Wii U.. but not so much that I am worried yet.. especially.. with a boost just reported in Japan for July.. and the boost most likely coming to America in August... and beyond.. I am not worried.. all Nintendo has to do is solidify it's line up.. and it will get a boost.. plus to be honest.. for a system that most people consider only has one true app to purchase.. what did you expect... it was going to be bad... and actually.. I think it's doing better than say Sony.. or Microsoft could have.. with just one exclusive seller app.. so nope not worried.. not expecting better numbers out of America till August.. but I think July will see a return to average.. or maybe better.. |
Huh. PS3 was 599 and had no exclusive killer app at this point in its life. Yet it sold more. Some people always try to take the blame away from Nintendo. This is their mess-up, their fault, and at the end of they day it will be theirs to try to revive it from horrible sales to mediocre sales. And for god's sake, this is 2D Mario we're talking about, which practically counts for multiple exclusive killer apps on the other consoles.

So what your saying is the PS3 in this day and age would sell a bout load more units.. without one killer exclusive app and with a 599.00 price tag?? I doubt it .. let me tell you why
first off.. at 599.00 alone.. and Sony with their attitude at the time would have prevented that
2nd.. Blu Ray is now old tech..and you can get a player for 100.00 or less.. as thus PS3's initial advantage is just lost... (Not to mention again the price tag)
third.. a lot of locally owned shops at the time.. along with some big national shops were basically giving the PS3 away(if not entirely.. were selling it at a huge discount) with the purchase of a home theatre system.. that would not happen now..(These were added to NPD numbers I might point out)
and yes this was in the first six months.. because PS3 was not moving.. without these advantages.. (The price as I point out basically prevented that) so I am sorry but the PS3 launching now.. or any system launching now.. with only one or less killer app.. would not move better numbers than the Wii U.. in this day and age..
Oh and by the way.. never said it was not Nintendo's fault.. I just said I doubt in this day and age considering the exact situation Nintendo is in.. a system would do a lot better..
Nintendo Wii by generations...
1. Wii
2. Wii U
3. Wii O U
Predictions made by gamers concerning the current Nintendo line up of games.
Pikmen 3= Little Bump to nothing. (Got Little Bump)
Wind Waker HD= Won't sell anything (The explosion happened here and at one time 4 Wii U games was in the Amazon top 100)
Super Mario 3D World= Won't help at all looks cheap. (Currently the most sought after Wii U game and continuing the Wii U increase.)
