Forums - Sales Discussion - October 2012 NPD Thread - 360: 270k, PS3+Wii: 212k

http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/09/npd-nba-2k13-resident-evil-6-top-us-charts

"Nintendo noted that Pokemon Black Version 2 and White Version 2 sold more than 865,000 units combined, and that New Super Mario Bros. 2 sold 135,000 units in October, putting it at 675,000 units sold in the United States to date. "

Good result for Mario, way better than japan - for the month, not lifetime.

I will judge Vita next month.
One full month of tracking for Ass Creed, bundles, new color, other games, etc, etc...

If nothing significant happens (like doubling sales or something) price cut is the only thing left for it in the US. Europe too. Japan still have other alternatives.

Its not very difficult for sales to double when they are selling at the rate of 5k a week in Japan. Maybe you want to put a better number on that?

I said this (double sales - to 70k at least) for NPD only. Japan has its holiday fate already written.

Its a damn shame with the Vita. And since AC Liberation is hanging on to quality by a thread (meta of 70), I think that will kill its long term sales appeal. Now well see if the COD game lives up to hype, but I always believe COD is played among consoles first and foremost.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

If Vita, with all that games and colors and bundles and Black Friday and Christmas... doesn't get to 150K at least, then it's more dead than a zombie.

We have NSMB2 at 762k in the US by Oct 27.

Well, I think software tracking here is worse than hardware. So if hardware was that bad, imagine software.

RE6 bombing slightly restored my faith in gamers.

WOW worst NPD I have ever seen.

Vita: 35k

Uh ... wow ... this .... is .... almost unbelievable.

LittleBigPlanet and Street Fighter x Tekken came out last month too.

Why are people surprised that sales are low in October? No one buys anything a month before the Christmas stuff starts to hit the stores.

For videogames? What's your source on this? Because if memory serves in years past October has been just dandy.

It's over for Vita. It will never get a proper foothold now.

Yes... its biggest month, thus far is the next one, its still selling at relkease price, yet the god that is you, knows the best Nice trolling m8.

Like Karl Rove, I also believe Fox News called Ohio far too soon.

Didn't Just Dance 4 come out in October? Not as if the previous few years have been much different in terms of releases

Yeah. And Mario Party 9 came out earlier. That's two big sellers. Which is fewer than in the previous few years.

Who's going to make the "So the Vita is pretty much over, what did you think" thread? ~35K in USA, ~30K in Japan in October.

It's not over till the fat lady sings!
