Wait... when did they make this list? Is this them looking back on 2006 from today?

I don't get it. Even in retrospect, I don't see how they came to some of the conclusions that they reached.

Bad list since Oblivion is only 4. From that list only Zelda (95%) has a higher Metacritic than Oblivion (94%).

Actually looking at all games from 2006 on all platforms including PC, only Zelda Princess beats Oblivion by 1% on Meta.

Oblivion should have been #1 or #2.

#2 should have been FFXII. It won PS2 Game of the Year 2006 at IGN ahead of Okami.

If FFX didn't make it in 2001, FFXII shouldn't make it either

Only 2 games on that list that I think belong on it. Some others are good, but if they were released last year I wouldn't even consider them to be on any "Best games" list.

On the other hand I probably couldn't come up with 8 better games, so yeah 2006 was pretty bad.
