Bad Company 2 is only like a month away.
I don't see a reason to buy it now.
It's good, but there are much better games out there at the moment.
Did anyone ever think that maybe everyone who bought and loved the game are way to occupied playing it. So that would kinda explain the lack of threads. When Killzone 2 and Oblivion came out I went days without the internet... and sleep.

@rynx - dude your missing my point. I'm saying the game itself sucks. The only new thing it offers is the numbers and even that does not work the way I had hoped it would. Everything about it is meh. The graphics are FRAUD for an HD exclusive but obviously this wouldn't even be an issue if the gameplay was actually fun. Someone tried to refute this earlier in the thread by telling me that it's cuz I suck at the game and probably just get pwnd. That's the entire reason I brought the sniper thing into this.
And plus even if you tried to find me you wouldn't be able to!

no this is completely false and you really have not played the game or if you have you only tried it briefly
256 player battle is called domination and the amount of dynamic planning involved is like no other game found on the market its 100% true , MAG is not played like MW or like KZ2 or even battlefield this game takes dedicated clan mates plus dynamic thinking to overcome what obstacles lay ahead for your team people need to play it for at least a couple days to see it really open up
yes you do mainly focus on your squad but lets say your defending the last post in domination which is completely over run by the opposition its very easily possible to have a game match where the full 256 are going head to head it doesnt happen that often because there is just so many things to focus on thats why it is essential to have a mic join up with a good clan and constantly be communicating the strategy and focus on the squad leaders objective
the scale of the battle is enormous the strategy is brilliant the whole design and execution are not matched of course their will be gamers that will not like it mainly because it does not have that lone wolf feel that some gamers love and those gamers are typically not the types to listen to orders or deligate what needs to be done
if your looking for somethng that feels like a mmo/rts/rpg/clan chatting its truly a deep and awesome experience do not listen to the negatives try the game for at least a couple days and get into a clan you then will not touch another shooter ever i promise and if you do you will realize what most of them are missing and how shallow they truly feel
seeya on raven
i have a pretty solid clan that is recruiting
psn: flowjo69
I've bought it, but i don't have the time to play it, waiting till i can get a through days off work and give it a good go.
Loved the Beta though, felt like you were one part of a much greater whole, that if you failed to meet your objective it affected everyone else on your team.
Also it really punishes you for dying, you really have to work to stay alive and keep going or you end up all the way back.

Favourite game: Killzone 3
im having alot of fun with it, its a really good game..
Has to be my favorite game right now, if you can get a few buddies to play with and command squads there's nothing else out there that rewards teamwork like MAG does. If you never got Socom, you'll probably never 'get' mag either. It's all about communication/strategy. The maps and game design are exceptionally well done. Don't play MAG without a headset, or intention to not use it. Find yourself in a squad with no communication, and you'll get rolled by another that uses it effectively. And yea, any competitive multiplayer game sucks when you're *ss is getting handed to you.
The 256 is no gimmick in my opinion. It works. You do start to see tons and tons of guys in the final charge/defense of domination maps, the games start early with your squad defending/attacking a bunker, in groups of eight. It starts out as small battles then turns into a huge battle to end.
The graphics are not poor or below average, you could only say that if you are comparing them to KZ2 or CoD this gen (fps). When you say it's the same as every other shooter, It just seems to tell me you didn't give it much of a chance to learn how the game play is different. I'm sorry but MAG does not fit into the generic shooter category, this one's unique - It seems like any shooter can be put in there as a way to bash it. Some people are too in love with CoD(a good game) to see it's just more of the same every year.
You're gunna get hit by snipers if you run yourself out in the open, don't you think that's actually realistic? I personally never had a problem getting hit by snipers cause I wasn't dumb enough run where snipers can hit me. Calling out sniper positions will help you win.

That isn't totally true. Splitting the teams into 4ths makes it feel like a big battle even if you're not actually watching all 256 players battle directly infront of you. To expect all 256 players in an extremely small area would be insane and I disagree about calling that a gimmick when it's exactly as they say, a large number of people attacking and defending on a large map. I find it similar to the Battlefield series. I can run around in the Battlefield 2 map, Gulf of Oman, and run across the map while people are shooting everywhere, jets and helicopters battle eachother while strafing the beach, artillary strikes suddenly decimate one of the control points, ect. While lacking on stuff like a variety of useable vehicles, MAG still offers a large number of players in a large battle on a large map which is something that also attracts me to the Battlefield games.
On topic, it doesn't break it down in a way that makes it like there's nothing else going on.
To those who don't know, the Domination mode (the 256 player mode) splits the teams up into 4 groups where each is attacking and defending their side of the map. The first objectives to attack/defend are burnoff towers. When those are taken, the cooling tower objectives become available and defends have to fall back to defend them. When those are taken, the defenders fall back to near the center of the map where a few objectives open up that that fourth of the players will try to attack/defend. If all 4 sides of the map fall, you'll end up having a large circle around the center of the map where the attackers are trying to fill a damage meter by taking and holding up to 8 objectives while the defenders try to resecure them. Then you get the other stuff like bunkers and apc's that act as forward spawn points and support as well as AA and motar batteries, things can get crazy.
The issue about it is that it really requires a team effort to push up and if the squads/team can't work together (ex- Raven's current problem and SVER's advantage), then the enemy will walk all over you. In those situations, all you can do is do the best that you can and make sure you unlock the handy medical kit and resuscitation ability so you can get as much XP as possible by reviving fallen teammates before they bleed out.
In the end, I will agree that a $60 asking price is a little steep in my opinion. I've spent tons of time in games like Battlefield 2, Counter-Strike (1.6, CZ, CS:S), and Team Fortress 2 (and TFC) so I don't have a problem with multiplayer only games. However, this is a full priced console game making it more expensive than what I paid for a game like Battlefield 2 and it's also a new IP so it's not going to get tons of sales anyway.
the beta was good but headset being mandatory is stupid
first I don't like talking
second I can wear headset and be silent
third people make fart noises and other stuff
So I will skip it if its true
