Forums - Gaming Discussion - How many of your favourite game series are dead?

Shenmue - status unknown
Suikoden - status unknown

I still have hope about Suikoden VI, but am very unsure about Shenmue III.

Looking forward to: FF Versus XIII / LBP2 / The Last Guardian / Yakuza 4 / ICO Collection

Hmmm...

Final Fantasy - very much alive
Shin Megami Tensei - alive and rising
Star Ocean - Alive
Tales of - kinda alive
Metal Gear Solid - As alive as always
Armored Core - Alive and after AC5, in a better shape than ever
Gran Turismo - Alive, but it's a reeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaalllllly looooooong pregnancy period. Lol.
Ratchet & Clank - Well, Insomniac had a final say, so it went out gracefully.

What do u mean? Is Ratchet dead?

A Crack in Time is their last game as far as I know, so... pretty much.

Well, Xenogears/Xenosaga still dead... Number 1 by far for me!

Some games should be left to rest in piece...

There's a new one coming out for the Wii called "Xenoblade". >_>;

And the cow had begun to get milked.

Most of them are alive.

Only Shadow Hearts comes to mind as something definitely dead that I'd like to have more of, although the last one was almost like a spin-off. Still the series had awesome characters and a nice battle system.

To this day I still play SSX Tricky, one of the more just fun games to come out within the last 10 years.  I don't know why they had to add all that open world crap to the game.  I just want to snowboard down the damn slope, I don't care about traveling to it.

Because of the back lash, and the fact that they only did number 2 because they felt they wanted to do so much more with L4D.

We'll see L4D3 next gen though I'm sure
