Can't you distinguish PR-talk? Right now there are probably 1.9 million units shipped, and reaching 2 million pretty much depends on if they ship new units or if it get's "the best edition" later this year.

There are still thousand of used copy's sold a week, sales which you of course don't see in charts.

Right now it doesn't look like FFXIII will reach 2 mil without re-release.

Also, not sure why the user game sales are mentioned. It happens to every game in Japan and it doesn't count as sales.

It'd make sense, porting a game 'up' from the Wii and giving it a HD brush isn't exactly hard or expensive. It wouldn't typically happen as the game would look 'bad' compared to HD-only games, but for an art style such as DQX's it wouldn't really be noticeable.

It won't happen if Nintendo are as involved on this as we've been lead to believe though. Shame really :(.

if this is the case, why do we not see more games being ported up since it would be easy and quick additional cash for the publishers?

For the reason I put in the post you quoted me on lol.

let me rephrase the question then... why do we not see more games with DQ art style to be ported up especially the ones that didn't sell that well on Wii?

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

No.

Iwata already said that Nintendo will help with the marketing for Dragon Quest X, so Nintendo and Square probably has some kind of partnership for this game.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

FFXIII is on track to becoming the worst-selling FF on any Sony platform.

DQIX is on track to becoming the best-selling DQ on any platform, period.

Where exactly does it make sense to put DQX again? The "highly expanded" PS3 fanbase is still puny.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

Be the ultimate ninja! Play Billy Vs. SNAKEMAN today! Poisson Village welcomes new players.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Theoretically it could happen, since MH3 went from a PS3 title to a Wii title, I guess the reverse is also possible...

Doubtful though. I don't think there's any chance of it underperforming on the Wii.

It's all about the game.

lol. Versus going Wii exclusive is more likely at this point...

If DQX leaves Wii, it'll just be for another Nintendo platform. PS3 just doesn't have the sort of userbase DQ demands.

The Enterbrain COE's comments were his own musings, they weren't reflective of Capcom. And he also said DQIX underperformed (lol).

Capcom said they were happy with domestic MH3 retail sales, and that subscription sales were actually exceeding their expectations. And the 1.1m shipped wasn't for August (MH3 didn't come out in July btw) but for the entire quarter (running through Sept 30th). A lot of the discounting has also been attributed to bundling SKU shipments... the bundles kept selling out while the standalones languished on shelves, which is what initially led to the discounting.

In your dreams.

And MH3 sales are just fine. Better than the previous game on PS2.

u cant use that as an excuse the game wasn't a big hit until the psp....

PSP ver has FREE online there, wii owners have to PAY, that may be why Capcom didn't look for psp like sales.....

Gaming make me feel GOOD!

MH3 was supposed to sell aka ship 1 million, but it's now at +1.1M shipped so it's actually ABOVE expectations!

They actually shipped 1.1 million in July, and because they still haven't sold all the units they aren't shipping any new units and you can find it at some retailers for a budget price. The President of enterbrain also recently revealed that Capcom was dissapointed by the sales and that they were expecting much more from it. Monster Hunter is a much bigger franchise today than five years ago, so comparing it to the PS2 entries like some here like to do is also pretty stupid.

FFXIII isn't on track to selling 2 million in Japan (1.9m perhaps but I doubt it'll hit 2m) plus they want to sell 10 Million WW which they won't btw.

Lol, are you going to quote the president of Enterbrain over their own words? Capcom already said that MH3 attributed to a good sales QTR and the creator of the series already said they found the sales good. Also the fact there's a lot of online players means more money so there's no way they were disappointed.

And why wouldn't you find the game at budget price. The game's been out for months now. DQ IX is cheaper and getting budgeted too.

If you want too fool yourself, be my guest.

Funny how people take PR talk from devolopers THAT serious.
