... No. -_-;
DQX more likely an exclusive Wii title. Wii has more than double the user base of the PS3. Wii/DS combination would make sense IMO to maximise sales of the game.
So were the numbered final fantasy games (bar XI for obvious reasons) but they still released FFXIII on the PS3

DQX now with the higly expanded PS3 userbase who are now actively buying third-party software, could probably sell more. However, almost all of DQ sales come from Japan, but with MH3 (the bigest third-party games for the Wii so far) selling well below the expectations we all had (1.5 million or at least prolonged sales). Even if you think its a resounding success, its still far from what FFXIII did. Could DQ sell more on the PS3? If it can, should SE switch even despite the higher development cost, as it will mean that their long overdue Crystal Tools is utilised more before the generation is over? |
FFXIII isn't on track to selling 2 million in Japan (1.9m perhaps but I doubt it'll hit 2m) plus they want to sell 10 Million WW which they won't btw.
Nintendo may publish DQX game in US and EU like what their doing with MH3, plus the userbase suggest the PS3 base isn't big enough sorry.
MH3 was supposed to sell aka ship 1 million, but it's now at +1.1M shipped so it's actually ABOVE expectations!
The Crystal Tools Engine is scalable for even the PS2 to handle so if they're going to use it than it will be on wii!
Gaming make me feel GOOD!
Doubt it.. Reason being, Wii has over twice the userbase and far less development costs. I highly doubt SE hates making money that much.
Is it so hard to believe that PS3 just might not get every top tier 3rd party game?

They actually shipped 1.1 million in July, and because they still haven't sold all the units they aren't shipping any new units and you can find it at some retailers for a budget price. The President of enterbrain also recently revealed that Capcom was dissapointed by the sales and that they were expecting much more from it. Monster Hunter is a much bigger franchise today than five years ago, so comparing it to the PS2 entries like some here like to do is also pretty stupid.

Can't you distinguish PR-talk? Right now there are probably 1.9 million units shipped, and reaching 2 million pretty much depends on if they ship new units or if it get's "the best edition" later this year.
There are still thousand of used copy's sold a week, sales which you of course don't see in charts.
DQX should be released on PS3 & WII a la Basara 3,
and i have a hunch that if SE released it on the 2 platforms, the Ps3 will sell more (especially in the west)

The game won't come to the PS3, but it is true that SE has made a very strange decision by releasing both games on entirely different platforms.
They are completely dividing their (RPG) fanbase on different platforms (FF XIII: PS3 (and 360 in the west, DQ X: Wii). This has hurt the sales of FF XIII (but not so in the west as DQ isn't as popular here) and will hurt the sales of DQ IX (less in Japan as it is more popular than FF). I really have no idea why they decided this.
Point 1: MH3 is the best Monster Hunter console game related to sales in Japan.
Point 2: FFXIII is the worst Final Fantasy related to sales in Japan. SE thought PS3 would be the winner of the generation when FFXIII devlopment started and took the wrong decision. If FFXIII would have been released on the Wii, it would have sold more for sure.
Point 3: Nintendo want Dragon Quest franchise to be one of their exclusives. I think there must be some kind of agreement of exclusivity (money) between Nintendo and SE.
