Forums - Sony Discussion - Top 10 most ICONIC locations to grace a Sony platform!!

I was a little surprised there was no God of War locations. But decent list

Around the Network

I said no for most of the game but after those first 30 seconds in Shambala, I finally accepted that Uncharted had better visuals than KZ2.

4 ≈ One

Pandoras Temple from God of War or Rapture from Bioshock are pretty awsome, otherwise the list is pretty good.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

This is a good list!

I don't think there can really be any reasonable doubt that they were right to pick Midgar as #1. Lots of great locations have appeared on the PSX, but the Midgar skyline in the FF7 intro is certainly the most iconic; it's the video game equivalent of the pre-9/11 Manhatten skyline, and the city itself adds so much to the atmosphere of the game. It's the only one of the locations on the list that any serious videogame fan can recognise, which is what separates it from the rest and which is what the list is about. If you show Shadow Moses to someone who hasn't played MGS they probably won't know what it is. If you show Shambala to anyone who hasn't played Uncharted 2, they probably won't know what it is. But if you show the Midgar skyline to a videogame fan who hasn't played FF7, they'll say: "That's Midgar!". And that, mes amis, is why it's the most iconic location on a Sony platform.

im surprised non of the pSO locations are on here. they were amazing and beautiful!!!

I am a big Uncharted fan but I don't think Shambala should be on the list. Sure it was good, but how could you not put Outer Haven in Metal Gear Solid 4 on that list. Every single Metal Gear fan, even those who didn't like MGS4 at all, thought that Outer Haven was epic, largely due to the final boss fight.

Human contact, the final frontier.

I actually think Midgar has more atmosphere than all the rest of FFVII. As soon as you leave it, the game turns into your run-of-the-mill FF game.
Nice list.

Quem disse que a boca é tua?

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

Ahh... Midgar.

Remake Confirmed!

Shadow Moses should have the 2nd spot on the list. When you go back there in MGS4 it's simply amazing.

I wouldn't say run-of-the-mill...

But I do agree about Midgar being the best part of the game and having the most atmosphere. It's somehow able to create a feeling of despair and gemutlichkeit at the same time.

Kinda expected Zanarkand to be here, but whatever. Very good list, can't really complain about anything that made the list.

I can't believe games use to look that bad though! Technology has really come a long way, lol.

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!
