Interesting to learn that Aonuma wasn't that involved with Spirit Tracks.
I guess he's pretty heavily involved with the Wii game!?
Also, the more of these I read the more of a mythological figure Miyamoto starts to become. The man really is a genius of game design, and I don't mean that as hyperbole.
Excellent read! "Iwata Asks" is pretty cool.
Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!
Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!
Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!
I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!
That was awesome.
These guys sound like they have a lot of fun pretty much all the time! (Laughs)
Wait... Nintendo invented the New Game+?
That's like one of my favorite game features. I always thought it was Square or some random JRPG company.

Where'd it say in the interview? Are you referring to this?
Aonuma: Oh, just like me this time with Spirit Tracks.
Iwata: I do hear lots of Entertainment Analysis and Development staff members, not just you guys, say he’s busy and doesn’t pay them much mind. “Miyamoto-san’s busy right now and won’t pay us any attention!” At any given time, Miyamoto-san tends to have something that he gives priority above everything else. While he’s absorbed in that, he basically lets everyone else go.
I think he meant, "Miyamoto was too busy for Spirit Tracks, too."
Anyway, this was an awesome read. I wonder about some, like below:
Iwata: That would be unthinkable now.
Tezuka: We definitely couldn’t do it now.
I wonder what makes them say this. Probably the increased complexity in present games?
There are still 2D games around nowadays, though.
