I'm pretty sure it will bomb, unless it is a huge surprise in store like Darksiders did.

Yeah probably - the Piranha Bytes games are always successful in Germany and eastern Europe and bomb everywhere else, but the sales seem to be enough to let them keep doing what they're doing - so I'm fine with that. :)

I greatly enjoyed the PC demo. I meant to pick it up last year, but unfortunately I haven't got around to it yet. Definately worth a look if they improve the poor european x360 version.

Unofficial numbers claim 700k+ units sold. (December 2008)

 

Risen sold 100k units in its first 3 weeks in Germany, Austria & Switzerland.

Hmm. . . some people kind of liked this game. I've played a few "7.5" RPGs this gen and I still liked them (To be fair though, there's no reason Lost Odyssey should be rated as low as it was)

Interesting to see some numbers - definitely more than I would have thought. I knew that the games got gold status which is 100k sold if I remember correctly, but 700k+ sales for Gothic 3 is pretty huge.

Are there any numbers for Gothic 1 and 2? I already tried to find some, but couldn't find anything official - just some guesstimating by fans.

Well someone wrote in Wikipedia that Gothic 1 sold 100k units and Gothic 2 200k units, but that was denied by the CEO of Pyranha Bytes.

He said that those numbers were totally false and that the real numbers were much higher.
