I really don't see the strategy behind releasing Gears 3 and Halo Reach in the same year.  I'd space them at least 6 month apart, if I were Microsoft.  Also, it looks like Mass Effect 2 has a good shot at GOTY, but even so, the 360 will finish third this year in sales. :)


The 360 will finish second in sales behind the Wii in 2010. Don't let 2009 fool you with the PS3 getting the edge over the 360, but Microsoft had no games. It was a just a filler year because they were holding out until 2010. This will be the PS3's strongest year yet, but it still wont be enough.

Ruffian Games (CrackDown)
Epic Games (UT , GoW , Shadow Complex)

Remedy Games (Alan Wake , Max Payne)

Those and some more wont make games for PlayStation anytime Soon , maybe in PlayStation 7 we can see Games from those on a Sony Machine but before that just forget.

BioWare and UbiSoft is other Story ... Splinter Cell is only exclusive because MS has done alot of advertising in the 1st Splinter Cell and it comes 1st on Xbox and ofc Microsoft has give them some bucks ... Mass Effect 2 is due to BioWare Said that it will be a Xbox 360 EXCLUSIVE Trilogy...

But i believe Mass Effect 2 will come to Ps3 but NOT Conviction ...

Why would Remedy stick with MS for the next three console life cycles? Remedy have never even made an exclusive in the past, and they're still listed as developers for the PS3. Although judging by the inordinate amount of time it's taking to complete AW, they might not get much of a chance to diversify this gen.

The kick ass news was was the Gears of War characters in Lost Planet 2 and on twitter he announced he has face melting megaton news coming.

While that news is pretty kickass, I would rather have GeoW3 or a Gears RPG or something.

I agree. They wouldn't want to release them in the same year but they wouldn't want to rest 1 title so it doesn't clash with the other for too long either. If they are coming out in the same year thats bad timing.

 

I'd still get both even if they were released on the same day but still think it would affect the sales for both games.

Only time will tell, I suppose.  If I had more time, I'd consider picking up one of the 360 arcades that I've seen on sale recently for $99, but I can't even get through the PS3 games that I already have, and we hardly touch the Wii, so there's so point right now.  One thing I know is that both PS3 and 360 owners should be thrilled with the large list of quality games coming out this year.

We are, I just have to bring my 360 over to PlayNTrade to fix it. LOL
