Square so far, but i think Level 5 and Sega are getting better and better, they might surprise us.

Bioware.

Square + Enix was the worst thing that happened for me (talking about RPGs).

For me Final Fantasy is a very overrated series except for Final Fantasy VI (incredible game in every way), all the rest is good but that's all (remember, my opinion). Square also developed two of the best RPGs ever (Chrono Trigger and Xenogears) but they are disappointing me this generation, so my vote goes for the brillant Bioware.

Although Bioware have been on a tear as of late.

I bet if you put the average review scores of each game by each company BioWare would probably win.

Square are very much hit and miss. Look at FFXIII, looks set to get average reviews while the last 2 BioWare games that were less then 6 months apart from release have scored well over the 90's.

Square used to be great, but they lost the touch by the looks of things.

Of the rpg's I've played in my lifetime, the best ones came from Square.....but it's been a long time. Ask me after FF 13.

Off topic: Magna Carta 2. Beautiful graphics. Forgettable story. Convoluted menus. Confusing upgrade system. Annoying voice actors.

And yet, I love this game and can't stop playing. 8/10 for me!

A few years ago, I would have said BioWare, hands down (Baldur's Gate, KotOR, Neverwinter Nights). But now I have to go with Bethesda (Elder Scrolls, Fallout 3).

Although I should mention that I haven't played Dragon Age yet.
