"Can" is a better term to use. What if they backfire? What if something somehow goes wrong? What if Sony pulls a few tricks of their own? Not trying to be a pessimist, but you can't 100% guarrantee such things.

Agree. People talk about lineups that are coming for the 360 lol. Ps3 will have not have just as much, but much more.

So, you hoping the next trade show that Sony will announce the release date for Vs XIII?  If they miss E3, does that mean they are going for a stealth release?

Far more exclusives?  By what measure do you speak?  If you mean ALL games, then I will add Indie games on the 360, which then causes it to not be a contest.  Besides, it isn't the number of exclusives that matters, it is total number of games people want to play, with the right price point, that matters.

I don't understand how people think this is good for Sony and bad for Microsoft. That would be like a new Apple OS taking away most of Microsoft's customers and people trying to spin that even though the latest Windows OS is in last place, it might catch up to the Apple OS by the end of the cycle.

And to complete the picture, we actually have the number one operating system being Linux (the Wii) that has run away with lion's share of the market, and neither Windows or the Apple OS has a chance of catching it.

FUD+DVD player in the PS2 caused the Dreamcast to end up folding.  The anticipation of the PS2 killed the Dreamcast.  The Dreamcast actually came out like gangbusters when it first released.  I believe it set some sales records also.  Sony did a good number on Sega also.  It appears they tried the same with Microsoft and the PS3, but it didn't have the same effect.  BluRay != DVD in impact.

There are hundreds of millions of copies of Windows XP that have been sold.  There are over 140 million copies of Windows Vista that have been sold.  Windows 7 is tracking faster than Windows Vista.  So how is the number one operating system Linux?
