Heh, it seems Xbox 360 Live is one of the shirt sponsors in MLS:

"On Wednesday, Microsoft and the Sounders plan to announce a deal that will place the words "Xbox 360 LIVE" on the front of the Sounders' uniforms when they open next March at Qwest Field. Under the terms of the deal, Microsoft will pay the Sounders roughly $4 million a season for five years, according to people familiar with the arrangement."

I think $4 million per year is a lot of money for just a shirt print on one single soccer team! No wonder Xbox isn't profitable lol.

So this pretty much means that former Arsenal and West Ham player Fredrik Ljungberg is now an Xbox 360 fanboy??

^ Haha, Fredde Ljungberg, really?

He's old though.

sorry, but that day will never come!

It will never take over hockey let alone be the number one sport.

Football is already more popular than hockey.  MLS TV ratings are at the same level as NHL, and World Cup ratings are better than the Stanley Cup.

Around the same time the USA wins a World Cup which I think will be between 2028-2040.

lol...

In less than two decades?

How much has the USA progressed in the last 18 years (since 1992)?

We've progressed quite a bit, actually, although the national side is not on the level of the top teams in the world of course.

- every World Cup finals from 1990 onward

- 1995 Copa America: USA 3-0 Argentina

- 1998 Gold Cup: USA 1-0 Brazil

- 2002 World Cup quarterfinal (only lost because of missed handball call on Germany)

- 2006 World Cup: USA 1-1 Italy (eventual champions)

- reached first major final just last year (Confederations Cup), defeating arguably the best team in the world (Spain) 2-0 and taking a 2-0 lead over Brazil in the final

- take it from someone who's watched MLS since its inception in 1996: it's a much, much, much better league now than 14 years ago.

- more and more top American players able to play effectively in Europe (Howard, Dempsey, Donovan, Altidore, etc), although there hasn't yet been a breakthrough at one of the really big clubs.

A bit of cherry picking, but okay.

Is the USA national team better than the Swedish in your opinion?

Your poll lacks a 'never' option.

I noticed this right away. I don't see soccer ever surpassing baseball or American football.

Everyone watches the world cup. Even me, and i dont even know half the rules to soccer. It's a once every 4 years event that people just... watch...

Where is the "never" option? Soccer is never going to beat football.

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

Never.

Most boys move on to "real" sports after age 12 and leave soccer behind. It's big in grade school but dead by HS. Unless your a girl, they still play soccer in HS.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
