There is a difference between an imminent update to the current Wii system primarily intended to satisfy a demand for HD on Wii, and the launch of a next generation system years from now that incorporates HD technology into a larger project for general advancement.

Whether or not it really is a Wii HD is irrelevent.

Pachter claimed that a Wii HD would arrive in 2009,  now he claims it is to arrive in 2010. It's been widely discussed in the media.

It's not going to happen.

I'm not sure we disagree on this.

I don't think you understand what i'm saying.

The Wii HD isn't ever going to happen.  This is true.

However, that everyone will except that eventually is NOT true.

The next Wii system will be seen as Wii HD by these people even though it's not something you or I would define as Wii HD.

So the correct answer to "when will people accept it" is never.

It will prove that Patcher was wrong and Nintendo was right about the products they distribute.

Nintendo's next system will not be a Wii, it will likely be HD, but it will be something different, built around another disruptive innovation to battle non-consumption and indifference

2011 is unlikely, only way 2011 will occur is if NATAL and the Arc are able to co-opt the Wii's disruption, which is extremely unlikely

Nintendo's second console following a radical shift is typically just a graphical upgrade anyways. Here's hoping they've learned their lesson after doing this twice already, but if not, the Wii HD is precisely what we'll all be getting.
