You can't be a darkhorse candidate if you are a well received game. That makes no logical sense. Everyone knows Mass Effect 2 is going to hover around high AAA status. Hence, not a darkhose candidate.

Not a "dark horse".

It's not the *MOST* obvious candidate, but still not totally obscure.

But yeah, has a great chance of taking GOTY.

Its definitely GOTY for PC owners but game of the year.....
We'll have to see what games we will get throughout the year.
IMO KZ2 SHOULD have been GOTY but oh well it released too early...
Same thing gonna happen to Mass Effect 2.
Its gonna get overshadowed by games that people will be playing at the end of the year.

KZ2 had no shot at GOTY 2009 because of games like Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2. Mass Effect 2 is too strong a game to suffer KZ2's fate. It will be remembered throughout the year. It has a clear shot at best RPG (Final Fantasy has no shot against it) and a candidate for GOTY.

Which could very well happen with Mass Effect 2. Remember, the first was not GOTY material, at least to some, and therefore people may be more cautious about this one. I have a feeling their cautions won't be needed though.



Well considering that the first game is the best game of the generation, i think it would be surprising if ME2 isn't GOTY.
