@jesus

You need to leave this discussion altogether. You're being too hostile and are getting close to a ban.

@everyone else

Can I be supplied a link from Team Bondi that announced L.A. Noire as a PS3 exclusive? I don't mean a current link. Even an outdated one from years back will do.

I can't find the official announcement but there's this:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/i_teambondi

The man being interviewed is the founder of Team Bondi

http://www.linkedin.com/companies/team-bondi

Neither one of those links announce L.A. Noire for the Playstation 3. My question is, where is the link actually announcing it? Does it exist, or did the media and fans merely connect this interview of an unannounced game Team Bondi was making funded by Sony, with the original announcement that a game was being developed from them called LA Noire? Did the team ever actually state that LA Noire is exclusive for PS3?

I ask this because it seems LA Noire's exclusivity to PS3 seems to be predicated on nothing but an educated guess, which is no better than what jesus kung fu did trying to prove it's coming to 360. If the most glaring of proof cannot be used to assist that this is coming to the 360, then why does it seem to be exactly the method used to assume it was originally the mystery game Team Bondi's head of staff talked about in the interview in 2004? There doesn't seem to be any announcement from Team Bondi or from Sony directly linking the game LA Noire with PS3 exclusivity.

So if someone could assist me, where is the actual announcement that this game is PS3 exclusive? I don't care what year it's supplied from. The only things I've seen on the net are second hand accounts from gaming websites when LA Noire was unveiled that automatically tied it to PS3 because of earler ties Team Bondi had with Sony, but there doesn't seem to be any official statement from either party circulating the net that it was at any time an exclusive to the PS3, which makes me think it doesn't actually exist.

I can't find any sort of official press release or anything like that. The closest thing I see to an announcement is this trailer.

http://ps3.ign.com/dor/objects/760495/la-noire/videos/lanoire_100506_trailer_01.html

This trailer does show however that R* publishing the title is nothing new. That eurogamer link has the founder and the owner of the company stating:

It's a long term exclusivity deal with SONY.
SONY's funding development of the title.

I don't see how this isn't confirmation. Who's a more reliable source from Team Bondi for this type of information than the CEO himself?

Also, it was never the mystery title. The issue with the argument with Jesus was that he didn't think R* had 2 Ps3 exlusives coming.

*"In February 2004, Brendan McNamara, Team Bondi's president, responded to an interview with Kristen Reed that "the project is wholly funded by Sony Computer Entertainment America. We have a long-term exclusive arrangement with SCEA." On 11 June 2007, Take-Two Interactive, the sole publisher of Rockstar Games, re-confirmed the release of the PlayStation 3 version by listing it amongst its "announced to date" titles for "fiscal 2008" in a press release regarding the company's second quarter financial results.
However, during the shareholders conference-call, a spokesperson for Take Two implied that both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 releases are likely and that "LA Noire is being developed for next-generation systems." However L.A. Noire has only been officially announced for the PlayStation 3. On 10 September 2007, as part of their Q3 2007 financial disclosure, Take Two announced the game was delayed until their 2009 fiscal year. On 21 January 2010, in a Question and Answer section on their blog, Rockstar said "There will be something great to see soon - a proper in-depth look at the game and why it is so ground breaking and innovative, both in terms of the game's design and the amazing new technology to support it. Expect to see a long-awaited reveal via a big cover story next month."

I didn't see any ties to the PS3 in the second trailer. The trailer in the first link is broken. However the text distinctly said that the announcement of LA Noire included that it would come out for next-gen consoles, with no distinction made as to which ones.

Have you ever thought to ask why there's no announcement that ever tied LA Noire to the PS3? There seems to be two events here. There's an interview in 2004 where the head of Team Bondi states they are working on a title fully funded by Sony. No name is given to this title. In 2007 Team Bondi shows the teaser trailer of LA Noire and announces that Rockstar is publishing and it's coming to next gen consoles. Now what I want you to do is find me something in between these two events that proves that LA Noire was exclusive to the PS3 or even announced for it.

What I'm doing right now is playing the same game everyone else is doing. Strong evidence points in the direction that LA Noire is multiplatform. That we can all agree on. There has however been no announcement that it's coming to the Xbox 360. Fair enough. I'm just asking for the same. Find me the confirmation that LA Noire is or ever was coming to the PS3.

It seems to me everyone is doing exactly what jesus kung fu was doing. He pieced together small, possibly unconnected pieces of material available through the net to prove it's coming to the 360. Everyone jumped on there being no confirmation. You yourself said:

The game was announced as a PS3 exclusive and since then, there's been no confirmation or announcement of a 360 version.

That is all.

Now I want you to show me this announcement. You can't use the interview from 2004 as the announcement since that could have been about any game Team Bondi was making, not necessarily LA Noire specifically. You can't use the announcement of the game with Rockstar since they clearly label it as coming to next-gen consoles. So find me the in-between that surely must exist where LA Noire was announced as a PS3 exclusive. I'm not asking for much. I'm merely asking as much as everyone in here asked jesus kung fu to provide for them when he claimed it was coming to 360.

Ok. I see what you're saying and you have a good point. There's nothing concrete for either platform. I can't find a PS3 announcement anywhere.

I still say that there's more supporting PS3 exclusivity than anything else though. Mainly because of that Eurogamer interview. There's no indication that team bondi is working on 2 titles and that interview seemed to speak purely about L.A.Noire.

The only thing supporting a multiplat title is a confusion between Team Bondi's game and R* North's secret title.

That's not what's supporting LA Noire as multiplatform. Agent is irrelevant to the discussion. It was in the link you provided. Check out the bolded red text.

http://kotaku.com/203019/rockstars-new-next+gen-franchise

An interactive crime thriller, murder mystery set in the 40s is Rockstar's next big game, the developer announced minutes ago.

LA. Noire will be developed by Team Bondi, a new Australian-based studio founded by Brendan McNamara, of The Getaway fame. The game is an "interactive detective story set in the classic noir period of the late 1940's." Rockstar says the game will blend action, detection and complex storytelling into a game that draws players into an open-ended challenge to sove and series of gruesome murders. The game will be set in the post-war Los Angeles of no freeways, drugs and jazz.

"Brendan and I have known each other for a long time, and to finally have the opportunity to work together on a game is exciting," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "The longstanding mutual respect and the combined experience between the two of us make this a great partnership," added Brendan McNamara, CEO of Team Bondi.

No date has been set for release and Rockstar declined to say what platform or platforms it would be hitting, besides "next-gen." Does that rule out the Wii or not? I'm a little confused on my terms.

Rockstar says they will be releasing the trailer on Oct. 5. I can't wait to see what they do with this genre, with the exception of a few recent entries it's been an under-represented genre for quite awhile.

That is the only evidence we have of any console affiliation. As of this moment, we only know it's coming to two consoles or more. Everything else is merely speculation. So everyone was wrong. LA Noire was never announced as a PS3 exclusive, nor was it ever announced for the PS3. A five year old Eurogamer interview is far from being a supportive argument, considering there's been confirmation from Rockstar it will hit more than one platform and that is more recent. Newer news trumps older speculation.

It's hard to take anything from that list seriously. Judging by the proposed release dates to their actual release dates, along with a number of missing titles and platforms of certain other titles, this looks like a list the accountants cobbled up, not the people in charge.

This post brings our total number of “console exclusivity debate” articles to 3. Yes, we’ve now more reason to believe that LA Noire will be coming to the Xbox 360 console (as well as PS3 of course) after VideoGamer.com noticed that a job advertisement for Team Bondi posted up on Gamesutra looking for a Lead Animator, states that platforms involved are the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Now, we don’t ever see Sony shouting about any sort of exclusivity for this game, and Team Bondi still say either “PS3″ or “next-generation consoles” depending on who you speak to, so this still doesn’t really count as “official”, but there we go.

thats from lanoire.net

seems nobody knows for sure..

Isnt this news about 2 years old?. I'm certain i've been hearing it's multi-plat for years now.

I still think that the exclusivity deal and funds. Aswell as reports of a PS3 release and the fact that its been somewhat recognized as a PS3 exclusive etc. Should indicate that its coming to the PS3. More so than any of the info about the 360 version which has all been interpretations of what people have said.
