MAG Designer thinks Xbox Live attracts more smack talking than PSN, PSN audience more suited to MAG.

Zipper Interactive's Ben Jones has said that he believes Xbox Live is "more juvenile" than PlayStation Network, and that MAG "definitely fits more" to the PlayStation audience "because of the things that are being said over Xbox Live".

Speaking to GamerZines at an event held in London yesterday to celebrate the imminent launch of PlayStation 3's upcoming online multiplayer shooter MAG, Jones said:

"I actually consider Xbox Live the more juvenile of the two," blaming "the things that are being said over Xbox Live" by its users for the service's relative immaturity.

ones thinks that PlayStation users are a bit more sensible than those talking smack over Xbox Live:

"Each service has its own posse," said Jones, "I think the PlayStation audience definitely fits more to our game.

"As we saw in the beta we've got an audience that's willing to communicate and willing to organise and structure, and help other people how to play the game. That's the most remarkable thing that I saw in the beta - random people helping other players along to try and familiarise themselves with this really cool experience."

1. it singles out a group of people using a service and calls them juvenile
2. he assumes that people don't know how to use the "mute" option
3. it insults the largest FPS console community and best online service on the market right now

We all know its a PS3 exclusive and that kissing ass of your userbase will prolly help sales...but hes just sounding like an ignorant jackass.

Wow! Awesome trolling from a developer! I think you might see more smack talk on Live because everyone has a headset? The games of Uncharted 2 I've played have sounded no different than Halo 3. I'm guessing this will be an okay thing to the VGchartz community though.

Come on they're just sad because they know 360 users love shooters and the game would sell more if it were there.

Basically agree,  the comment wasnt needed.  Although everyone having a headset on 360 is not the blessing I thought it would be, it just makes more work for me trying to mute the annoying ones.  And the only game I have ever really had any problem with is and CoD game, regardless of console. 

He should have just said his comment about MAG and be done with it,  cause it's the only true thing he said.  The people who do have a headset do help out alot and try to form plans and such.  

Shooter fanboys are the most immature out of all genres (IMO), and given the Xbox 360's strongest userbase...well, you can see what leads to such sweeping generalizations.

With that being said, he's in no position to talk since their game is a shooter as well. MW2 on PSN also has its kids. Furthermore, the perverts roaming Home also beg to differ.

but seriously it's bullshit, kids on psn are just as bad as xbla, it's just more people on xbla meaning more kids.

and as for MAG it's a hardcore tactical game, the type of player has to be more mature, it would be the same on live. He just obviously never played MW2 on ps3, kiddy games get a kiddy audience.
