Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Little King's Story sequel in doubt.

They were satisfied with its Others sales last week.

I wonder why he encourages people to buy it off Amazon though? Is it because people cannot find it in retailers? Probably. No one even knows Little King's Story exists outside of videogame forums.

Nothing about the game's aesthetic screams appeal. Its a hard game that has the intrinsic design of everyday shovelware. The Nintendo Channel trailer made it seem like a child's game. It had nowhere to go from the start. You cannot once again blame consumers for not buying something they never heard of.

The Halo comment was unwarranted too. They are not on the same console, in the same genre, or released in the same year. Heck, they were made by companies from opposite sides of the world. But since he is a Japanese guy, he characterizes anything popular in American videogames with Halo, instead of looking at the market and seeing Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, or Nintendo's first party titles dominate the sales charts.

Gamers would love an LKS too, but you have to give the consumers a chance to know what it is first...........

Why Amazon?  Frankly, it is because Xseed is not a very good publisher.  I have never seen the game in stores where I live.  The only way to get it is online.

The thing is, I'd much rather have Halo on the Wii.  There's a reason games like that do well, and there's a reason that LKS did not.

i don't really think so.  A game that is this niche probably wouldn't have benefited that much from advertising, probably wouldn't even be worth the money.  This is not the type of game that most people want, that is all.  It doesn't mean it's not a good game but if you want your game to sell you have to make it appealing to a great amount of people.

For those confused why they were happy with sales last week...

Those quotes were from Rising Star Games, who published it in Europe - where it sold better. I'm still not convinced that the developers themselves could take too much joy out of European sales, but I digress.

Rising Star Games pretty much took a nishe Wii game no one else wanted, and sold a reasonable amount of copies. Given the circumstances I doubt they were ever going to be disappointed in sales, as, as a publisher they invested little into bringing it to Europe.

So, Halo was to blame for lack of LKS sales.

Kind of a lame comment, but i guess it works. The game didnt sell well in the States. What should have happened was a marketing plan similar to de Blob (which sold damn well), selling LKS as a child game. The market is there, and eventually word of mouth would propel it further, but a game like LKS would be a hard sell to the "hardcore". It needed to be marketed for what it looks like, since, unfortunately that how most people see things.

The game was underfunded and didn't receive any advertising. Its just another example of an original Wii game with good ideas that no one played because no one heard of it. Of course it sold badly, because it wasn't advertised.

I highly doubt it'll get a sequel. And even if it did, it would be a low budget, rushed title like the first game.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

I don't think I would call the first game rushed.  It got delayed several times.  If it was rushed, they probably would have just released it instead of delaying it.
