Check the list - copy paste from VGChartz software totals and using single platform counting like the major websites.

The top 25 only has 4 non-Nintendo titles, all stagnant.

Below GTA San Andreas, there's only 4 Nintendo stagnant titles.

The numbers for the Non-Nintendo titles are really close to some climbers such as Wii Sports Resort and Brain Age 2.

With Wii Fit Plus, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wii Sports Resort, Brain Age 2, Wii Relax(?), Pokemon Heart Gold&Soul Silver and some other Wii Series Title for 2011 which we can't underestimate the selling power, I think this should become a reality till Xmas 2011. Also, I see no title for PS3 or 360 or PC capable of pulling 12M+ sales, so we can dismiss those.

 I even think if Tomodachi Collection (the new "Brain Trainning" in Japan) finds success in the west it can be another ~15M seller.

That would require 12 more Nintendo games to sell more than 18.16 million to knock off San Andreas. Not likely

I started the thread with the top 20 in mind, but that is a given with all the titles mentioned above, So I made the top 25.

Well Wii Sports Resort and NSMBWii are both going to pass all those non-Nintendo games, which will push Vice City out. Wii Fit Plus will probbaly do the same.

There is not much else that we know of at the moment that could beat those games, not to say there will not be any in the furture though. I suspect Gran Turismo 5 will be out of the top 25 by the end of the generation too, with a slight possiblity of The Sims as well, but not San Andreas.

So for the next 3 years at least I believe San Andreas will still "hold the fort" in the top 25... probably in about 19th/20th.... while The Sims will still be there in 23rd/24th

GTA:SA will be in the top 25 for a loooong time. Even longer if they ever port it to Wii.

Not bad for a lazy developer won't you say?

i think it will happen eventually (not for years, and not this generation) is there any kind of time frame for this?

Mario Kart DS, Wii Sports Resort, NSMB Wii, Wii Fit Plus, Wii Vitality Sensor and maybe Pokemon Diamond / Perl have everything to surpass GTA SA.
Wii Will Be Missing one game to make a 20 top NINTY.
