What's the split for digital/retail? Cuz there's no way the game is doing 50k digital, especially not on the 3DS or in Japan.
Not even the most popular games pull off that many digital sales here in America on week 1.

I'm uncertain in Japan; but I'd imagine around 5-15% of sales depending on the title. Obviously if there were stock shortages it will be towads the higher end of the spectrum, so 50k digital is not too far-fetched.

And you know this for certain? I know that I'll be getting the game digitally; nothing better than having AC in ALL.THE.TIME after all...

Now this IS good news! Most surprising given that the game sold as much online as was initially going to be shipped!

Wow! Does it mean the game will sell more than 800k first week (counting the digital version)?

Lol, 200k for the digital version, and just a while ago someone was saying that 50k was impossible for high profile games on US. xD

Iwata went directly to Twitter to talk about Animal Crossing: New Leaf selling out nationwide across Japan, along with its upcoming scheduled shipment for this week. Nintendo shipped roughly 600k copies last week including an additional shipment. Another shipment of 100k copies is due in the first half of this week, and the second half of this week will see an additional 200k copies shipped. Iwata also announced that over 200k digital purchases of Animal Crossing: New Leaf have been made and download cards have also been selling out.

So we're looking at around 700k FW (with digital) and probably 300k second week. That is just unbelievable numbers! Eat your heart out Mario!

Surely you're wouldn't be stealth trollin' here. I don't think anyone can possible say there is some overwhelming bias against Nintendo. While the userbase here has fluctuated, it's always been a very Nintendo-friendly site in my eyes.
