Err, no preview this week too? :(
Btw, FF XIII-2 legs are impressive, i must say.
|
These are not legs. This is just a Price Cut in COMG stores. FFXIII-2 had a 850k shipment, and it hasn't been sold yet. So stores are cutting the price. It started last week, but we didn't see a boost in the Media Create chart, that's because COMG stores are not enough to boost the general japanese sales.

The actual numbers for FFXIII-2 show very strong legs. According to VGC the game has sold 803k so far and it's sales have increased this week (4.5k compared to 4.2k). FFXIII was selling below 2k by that time and saw similar price cuts.

Every game in Japan get a price cut a couple of months after release mostly due to the very aggressive used market.

I'm sorry but I can't call that legs. A game that has a first shipment of 850K First Week and two months later hasn't been sold yet, and needs price cuts to reach at that level can't be considered a "leggy" game. I know that thanks to word of mouth the game is selling. Because if the game is bad, even if you cut the price, it won't sell. It's not the case of FFXIII-2, but still needs price cuts to sell. So, I'm not going to call legs at this.
With FFXIII the first shipment was sold out, and it was with the next shipments that needed a price cut. It's not the same situation.
A similiar situation with FFXIII-2 was Ni no Kuni (DS version). The game had the first shipment around 600k. But was selling so slowly and the stores cut the price, and showed "legs". Again I can't call legs at that thing. The game was selling thanks the price cut, not for its own.
Another exemple is Monster Hunter Tri (Wii), overshipped with one million copies FW and needed price cuts to sell the first shipment.
All this cases, are not legs for me.
