The biggest FW for a Pokemon game is 1,6 m, B&W will probably do better. But bigger FW ever was 2,5 m, I think that's too much but not impossible.

Curiously the biggest opening ever in Japan is not for a Dragon Quest title but for a Final Fantasy game, in this case Final Fantasy VIII which sold 2,504,044 units in its first week though I think it had 4 days while Dragon Quest games are always released on Saturday so they only have two days. Pokémon games tend to be quite undershipped even if this new Pokémon has a much bigger shipment than the previous entry I find it very hard that they will ship more than 2 million or 2,5 million copies just for two days.

Three biggest first week openings in Japan.

- Final Fantasy VIII ----- 2,504,044

- Dragon Quest IX ----- 2,343,440

- Dragon Quest VIII ----- 2,236,881

Well it does have 800k preorders already according to the preview, andrising really fast. I wouldnt be surprised if it ended up at 1.6-1.7 million byt its release which could poise it for a record breaking week

That could work for a normal title, but Pokemon game are always undershipped in Japan and people know this, so they preorder the games; this means that there won't be many copies sold other than preordered. Anyway the preorders are tracking well over D&P ones so it is very possible to have a record week, maybe not the best of all time but the best of this gen.

I can't understand why Black is doing better than White. Generally this type of games (like Inazuma Eleven 3) has half copies for each version, while this 5th gen Pokemon have a 17% discrepancy. And Nintendo did all they could to push both the versions, they also put the Black Legendary Pokemon in White and the opposite so that poeple would get confused...Great preorders though! Wii :(
