Forums - Microsoft Discussion - In 2009, U.S. Xbox 360 console sales topped 10 million units?!

In 2009, U.S. Xbox 360 console sales topped 10 million units, with more than 1.3 million sold in December, contributing to a worldwide Xbox 360 install base of 39 million. Those numbers are crazy, and on par even with Wii!

uh i think you misinterpreted something

Long Live SHIO!

So they mean LTD? Kekeke

NPD had it about 4.7M... big diference between Microsoft and NPD.

So...

Microsoft = 10M
NPD = 4.7M
VGC = 5.5M (for America)

with more than 1.3M......1.31 =P=P=P=P

also, THIS CAN'T BE POSSIBLE, maybe it's shipped?

IMO it was misswritten... but even if they did mean worldwide, isnt that number for shipment a bit low? Starnge, but I doubt that its true...

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Its obviously a mistake, either on the part of Microsoft's press release or Wired's transcription of it. I searched and nobody has the press release up yet so its hard to tell who made the mistake.

But those numbers are worldwide, not for the US. That much is obvious.

Perhaps they mean that X360's installed base in the U.S. passed the 10 million mark in 2009? No...I don't think that's right, either.

Bah!
