I'm sorry jneul but the reception to WKC in japan was absolutely mediocre by the critics and the players

Once again I am still buying it though as it looks fun & SO4 is a disappointment

for us western players online is important, so we will like it more than the japanese

I'm surprised that people fans of Final Fantasy X-2. I like it due to the continued story from Final Fantasy X (I love the story, plot, characters, etc of FFX).

X was magical, Tidus and Yuna were meant to be....and literally the definition of "made for each each other".

Based on what I've seen I would expect the metas to end out in FFXIII's favor but not by as much as some probably think. I think WKC will get high 7's or low 8's while FFXIII will get mid-high 8's.

After that it's just how likely is something to beat FFXIII's score. You have to look at the wildcard type games like Resonance of Fate at that point, which one has the best chance of not only being an amazing game but hitting it off with western reviewers as a whole as well. Weirdly if I were going to bet on an unexpected underdog I think i would go with 3D Dot Heroes. The review I read said it's beautiful and extremely fun and really just needs self referential and hilarious writing to hit it out of the park which Atlus may be able to provide.

That's by no means a certainty, but I guess I've decided that 3D Dot Game Heroes has the best shot of a jRPG in my mind to beat FFXIII's meta (that's assuming it really is a jRPG when I get to play it)

Hmm it's a tough one, but considering what have been (sorta)negative impressions from FFXIII, I think WKC will turn out to be the better one(probably just slightly, but first I'll have to play em to make a better desicion ofcourse )

Interesting point, of course you are right, 3D Dot Heroes does have a lot of potential, as well as ROF, I already have tried the beta and I loved it, so yes it could potentially outdo FF XIII.

Next time I will try and include more options, I just thought it was better to focus on the two options I gave as they are being relesed so closely together.

If there is one JRPG that can beat FFXIII in meta & I wouldn't mind, its ROF!

I also really liked X - 2 as well. I am still looking forward to FF XIII. FF games tend to feel more epic than other RPGs. I just enjoy the epic story lines.

you loved ROF as well, that's good, how quickly did you get hang of the battle system(without help). I figured them out in about 10 mins hehe

Only jRPG I can think of likely to come out in 2011 is Ar Tonelico 3, though personally i hope it gets announced for this year
