Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 3D, just Glasses... work on any TV >200Hz

Hi Folks,

There´s a lot of miss information around, so I did some research and got this:

1)PS3 3D glasses don´t need a specific SONY TV, can work with any TV that handles 200Hz or more... (DLP TV´s work tooo!!!)

2)HDMI 1.3 and HDMI 1.4 will be standards...

3)Price will be less than $200,00.

4)Some games will work "native" others with hotfix and others will not be fully compatible due effects processing without support of this 3D "patch".

5)Massive information and marketing will start on US Summer only..

6)Will be released this year.

7)Full specifications not yet detailed.

Sorry about my terrible English.

PSN: franco-br
MGS4, GH, MW2, GT5p, WipeoutHD, etc..etc..

I think my TV is only 120Hz...

good news, I thought they would do something like this. Standalone glasses are key to mass appeal.

Excuse my noobness.... but how to you know the Hz of your TV

Well most TVs now averagely 120Hz. If the price is roughly near $200 i'd rather just cough up extra money to buy another console or something.

But thanks for the info ^___^

Around the Network

Who the hell has a 200Hz TV?

And what do you mean $200? On top of the PS3 and this ridiculous 200Hz HDTV, they're going to charge us MORE?

Sometimes I think Sony doesn't learn.

Post a source or I'm going to assume you made all of this up.

i'd like to know how they're supposed to work, cuz the 3d glasses have 2 different polarized filters in them, and in order for them to work the light coming out of the tv has to have two types of polarization (vertical and horizontal) and a standard tv does not

Only TVs over 200 hz are the plazma they run 400-600hz, The very new LCD are 240hz, My TV is a LG Scarlett 46 inch 1080P 120 hz , So I will be curious to see if it will work, I'm one I really don't know how much I care about 3D, sounds cool, it may give me a headache, I love what I'm getting now with my PS3.
