He's saying "make", not me
And I thought the 7 vs. 70 thing was off-the-cuff hyperbole
The point is that the ratios don't matter, Ubisoft still brings the Wii some nice games

I agree, I really don't care if Ubisoft makes Petz, Academy of Champions, or whatever type of game, I don't care and won't buy them. I'm happy if they continue to release good games. Those won't appeal to me but there may be people interested (and as we see, losing interest) on those games.
But in 2009, the only ones I care about are, Tenchu which is still on my wishlist, and TMNT that disappointed me with lack of fighters.
I'm still waiting for the Nintendo Quality games they promised.

I think they made 11 good games out of 84. That includes 4 Rabbids Games, that Broken Sword game, the two gym games, Red Steel, TMNT Smash Up, Just Dance, and Tenchuand something else....
Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. " thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."
Eh... the Rabbids games are kind of funny but I wouldn't say they're good.
(I only played the first one, so I reserve the right to be wrong on the other three)

And people wonder why so many gamers listen to Malstrom.. His predictions continue to manifest themselves before our eyes (at least his gaming predictions). Just like he predicted, more and more 3rd parties are getting burned by their cheap ass shovelware, since the expanded audience is smarter than they anticipated and not buying into their "casual division" crap, so now they are all retreating to the markets they feel safest with; the HD market. But in the end I believe this will be their downfall if they focus too much on the distant 2nd and 3rd place consoles, with the rapidly increasing development cost coupled with the declining of the core market.
This is only good new for Wii owners, because for one, it lessens the diluting of the quality of Wii's library with less shovelware and makes it easier for the gems to stand out. Two, it opens the door for a wave of new indie devs who ARE willing to make quality games for the console.
OMG!!! pleas no don't leave UBI we need you to stay :P lol

Now that the Wii shovelware will be reduced considerably the 3rd parties will have no one to blame (Wii) but themselves for lack of profits.

The more 'casual' Wii owners have no idea what Red Steel is. Plus they got enough sword action in WSR for most of them. Nor does RS2 allow you to play with/against your friend/kid/sibling/girl - a major oversight. If this was Star Wars Jedi Knight Action it would sell 1m easy. 5m likely. With lots of TV ads showing the 1:1 sword fighting and gunplay, it might hit 1m. But I don't expect that kind of support. Sales will like be closer to 500k. |
The core market is still there. The Call of duty games prove this. Each has sold over a million units. Casuals are not doing this. Why does every one think that core gamers are not enjoying the "casual" offerings on the Wii. This is a big misconception. To reiterate my previous statement, Red Steel 2 will sell a million units.
If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
