Forums - Sales Discussion - GT5 : The (hidden) Sony weapon for end 2010 ?

I'm almost sure the game will see a pre-holiday release.

why would the biggest game left for sony this gen need a "strategy" ?

There is no master plan or startegy.... its just delayed.

Dont be stupid. Sony can either bring this game out in Q1/Q2 where their line up is packed and great, or bring it out this fall when no major racers are releasing, more people will buy it and more GT bundles will be sold.

Its maybe not just 'delayed'

The more this gets delayed gives the competitors more time to develop a counter strategy.

There are no console competitors that come even remotely close, and if they were to counter act they would have a smaller team, and a less capable system to work on meaning they would need probably 6 years at least in development time.

Well, if this comes out at the same time as Halo Reach, MS could put the marketing machine into overdrive.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

By competitors I really ment other racing games, but if Reach comes out at the same time, it and GT5 wont hurt each others sales. Also, if MS put the marketing machine into overdrive they'l probably be a lot less profitable with Reach, bad news for investors.

Hiphopgamer saids that they trailer wont be shown in his latest vid .http://hiphopgamershow.ning.com/profiles/blogs/god-of-war-3-is-microsofts-new  Hope its not true.

GT5 delay is not so bad a worldwide release would be they right move.

You're really using Hiphopgamer as a reliable source? What the hell kind of a media blowout has no trailer?

Dude what are you talking about, Sony has the wand or gem, GOW3, MAG, Heavy rain, GT5 There is a bunch more I just can't remember right now, 360 has Natal, Halo Reach , Mass Effect 2, Which may come to PS3 later, alan wake, that is really it, splintercell has now been post poned till late 2010 to mid 2011. They both will perform well, I think Sony has the edge, but it really does not matter to me because I own both.
